thats a old block and concrete plant Andy Morris was the owner he also had a lumber yard next to it i think it closed in the early 90s (Andy only had one arm)

Thanks for letting me know. I was actually researching to find out what this place exactly was. I saw the truck said Morris on it and I found some old business records, however all I could see is that they were an “abrasives” manufacturer. Thanks to you I was able to give this video a more accurate title.

I grew up just a few thousand yards north in the town of Osage there’s not much left in the area but it does have a lot of coal mining history and Andy did have children who are probably in their 60s now and I would guess they still own the property and it’s true he only had one arm which was gone from the elbow down and he would drive standard trucks

My grandmother grew up near Exchange. Her father was a tobacco farmer and this was the closest town to their holler. Sadly, Exchange recently burnt down.

I know who owns this house. It's my brothers father. I was just there last month. The house down the street is actually his father's father's house if that makes sense.

The last owners of this Property have the last name of "Arnold". They were pretty nice folks. Went to school with the owners kids. Its the same story I think. Mom and Pop have business. Kids grow up get married and such. Have their own things going on. Things fall into disarray and disrepair. BTW. The property was occupied till recently. The out buildings and store and stuff was falling in but the house was used as a residence. I dunno what all happened with the paved road and old Bridge. But I think there was some contention between the owner and the State and the state built the new bridge above the old one to either avoid this or to position it in a better location. The old bridge was demolished. And the road reverted back (I think) to the Arnold's ownership and care. (The old Bridge was in a nasty turn as well and flooded) This property would make a great mini farm. And it is actually pretty close to Flatwoods and I79. But also far enough out. That you can pee off the front porch if you wanted.

I have since revisited Exchange and spoke with the neighbor right next door, I have found several phone numbers for the Arnolds. The neighbor and some other locals I spoke with referred to them, however, as “Linger”. I am filming Pocahontas county as we speak but I am returning to Braxton one last time before I depart the state.

Dotty Arnold owns it now. Her husband, who is deceased was Linger Arnold.
