One hint I saw was when using repair tape is to round off the corners. This stops the tendency of something catching the corner and pulling it off

Camelbaks don’t allow it to be a quick stop and fill container. 1 is none and 2 is one. A wide mouth Nalgene is a good second hydration source. I also deployed twice with camelbaks…. Water as hot as camel piss is god awful when you’re already hot miserable and waiting to get blown up

I just bought one of these. My sleep system is a WIGGY’s FTRSS, which consists of a core bag and an overbag, so, much like the military sleep system, it is quite bulky even before adding my bivy bag. I’ve tried quite a few different compression sacks, and this one is by far the best. It really allows me to compress everything down into a packable size. If anyone else owns a Mystery Ranch 6500 (or any model with a sleeping bag compartment) and is having trouble fitting their sleep system in there, this is the one to get. Also, it is completely waterproof and very reasonably priced as well. I’m glad i found you guys. Your site is by far my favorite place to buy military surplus

@Katsoup98 it doesn't have built in mag pouches but otherwise I would agree with you.
@kingofwishfulthinking24903 ай бұрын
No. The current issue TAPS is based off the LBT TAPS from the mid 2000s. And in turn that was based off of other chestrigs used by NSW at the time like the DBT low vis chestrig, the HSGI Wasatch, Blackhawk commando and to some extent the SOTECH Hellcat. The RACK is more similar to the Eagle Industries RRV and Tactical Tailor MAV.

I lived 27/7/365 for almost 6 years out of the ilbe gen 2 as I backpacked the US. It was the Cadillac of packs, took a beating like nothing I had ever used and once you knew how to use it, was the most comfortable ruck I had ever used. My average load was around 55lbs. However! It had a few flaws that were key and never satisfactorily addressed imo even in the filbe system. I had no idea these existed! How crap! It literally addresses EVERY SINGLE THING I wish had been done on the ilbe! And for $200! Dude. Toss is a 4 piece sleep system for another couple hundred as a kit and your Armageddon ready!
