I removed the cover BUT I need to replace the board. How do I do it w/o breaking the tabs holding the board in it

The "door ajar" beeper on my Kenmore upright freezer kept going off, even though the door was closed. To make a long story short, I ended up replacing both the door switch and the control board. The beeping stopped for a few days, but it started again today. Could there be a problem with the wiring between the switch and the control board? Also, the light stays on even when the door switch is depressed. Do you have any ideas about how to fix it? Thank you.

Looks like the same controller on my GE freezer. I can't figure how to manually put it in defrost mode. I pushed the down arrow to warmest temp and then tapped the down arrow 3 times and a "d" was shown. It was blinking, but the defrost coil didn't heat up. How do you get defrost on yours ?

Ughhhh I can’t find any vids on my freezer. It’s a KENNMORE. About 9 years old. We had a storm the other day & then discovered the freezer stopped working. The interior light still comes on but that is all. How did your repair man test the control board? How did he know it was bad? My control board is the same part number as yours.

My display started showing Gibberish, and started getting warm. We pulled everything out and bought a smaller replacement chest freezer. I talked to a repairman after i couldn't diagnose the issue. He said there was a 95% chance it was this board, which it was. I bought a used one for $68 and it fired right up. This will be the first thing i'll look at if the problem ever returns. If anyone knows of a place that repairs these, I'd love to know. Then i'd always have a back up. Btw, Mine is a Kenmore. Exact same as this one shown.

Thank you sharing, I have the exact the same problem but my freezer is a Kenmore upright freezer. I researched and the same part number that you have and it crossed with the one on my freezer so I ordered it through Amazon and when I received it, got it installed and like you, I got it fix.the only difference is now I have two freezer 😂😂😂 I got tired of plugging the old one so I went to Home Depot and buy another one again thanks for sharing

Hi! I have a a similar problem with my freezer but the panel doesn't show the number so I can see at what number of cooling I have it at. If I press the upper arrow does that mean colder or hotter temperature. It just says 7 is the coolest setting. I hope my question makes sense.

Ughhh! We thought this was our problem too. High temp light & beeping alarm was on. It was as if it got stuck in defrost mode bc it was constantly running with temp staying around 40%. So we ordered this part & replaced it in 2 days when it arrived. Unfortunately this did not fix ours so now we’re back to looking for suggestions as to what needs replacing next…compressor??

I have the same freezer and today my door ajar alarm it happened couple years bk so I unpluged it and its been fine, now today I did the same thing and the door alarm keeps going off theres nothing in the way , any suggestions??

Same problem with my Frigidaire freezer , one week before become full ice , heater not responding , front panel , lamp blinking , today early morning i call official Frigidaire service center and they replace the Control about $150 , and $50 for service , Now freezer work great as new .
