Definitely agree with everything you said coach but imo the "lever" pass is a valid technique in tight spaces when the D is taking away your bottom hand mobility. The more weapons in the arsenal the better!
@Coover902104 ай бұрын
I think some people call that technique a "lever pass", where the bottom hand is essentially fixed and the top hand does most of the work.

Exactly. U coached basketball?

ok so, this might sound incredibly stupid or genius, but what I do is I use a bouncy ball that bigger than the regular lacrosse ball and cradle and do regular practice routines with the bouncy ball, because what it does is it is harder to use than the regular lax ball, so when your in a game it’s easier to use the stick with it and your stick work will improve. I also like to shoot with these on my couch, just imagine two of the seats is the primiter of the goal and boom, u got it.

I think stretching and knee bending ops and exercises for many sports - hitting in baseball / softball - getting the body into the tennis - getting down to spring up for basketball - probably more - and yeah- the scrum for the ball can for sure decide the game in lacrosse

stutter step is literally so fun to do in games, i’m in 8th and if you have decent footwork and speed you burn everyone coming off the draw 😭

Not a soul has cradled with their top hand in a shooting position since the 80’s. Bottom hand shooting cradle is what most players and definitely every elite player do.
@camisaloser Жыл бұрын
For any people new to lacrosse, if you’re at the middle school level or above, cradling this way will absolutely put you at a disadvantage. You want to cradle using your bottom hand to turn the stick and your top hand as a loose pivot. Cradling with your top hand while attempting to shoot limits your power, quickness, and arm angles at which you can throw the ball. I watched this video a couple of years ago when I was new and going for my highschool team and just unlearned this BAD habit at the college level. If you think I’m wrong try to shoot/pass fluidly from any angle other than overhand using this technique.

Weird question but is the video reversed or are both these guys lefties? I guess it’s not that weird but still, statistically only a 1% (10% x 10%)-unless of course they’re related.

Probably the best explanation I have seen and heard on “shooting cradle”. My 4th grader kept losing the ball when shooting. In ONE afternoon this is no longer an issue. I made sure he watched you say it Coach… since my words are trash. Lol.
