He used to be my truck driver and delivered paper to us. I miss him and occasionally think about him and him stopping and talking to us.

He also did some acting. He was on "The Colbys" and played a surgeon on "Designing Women." Quite a guy! Truth be told, he bears something of a resemblance to Boston's Brad Delp.

Thanks so much for this. This was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. It's been covered many times. Nazareth's version from early '76 was the most well-known. Joan Jett covered it too, but hers didn't chart.

He also did AT&T spots, right? It seemed I remember him doing "Over the Rainbow" for them. Posting 12-7-22. Happy 74th, Gary Morris, and many more!

Gary Morris has the voice to make you feel the hurt. His guitar player is one of my favorites. The runs he makes on "I'll never stop loving you" are awesome (Y)

P.S. Wasn't ever sure why he wasn't a really big "star". He was, as they say, "the total package"!

I knew Billy Ray back in the 70's in Nashville, when I worked for both publishing and record companies. He and Mickey Newbury and Chris Gantry, Guy Clark and many others would get together for "mini showcases" (guitar pullin's) of their latest songs. Something made me think of him, one of those "wonder whatever happened to Billy Ray Reynolds?" thoughts. I did a search and found this. Super talented guy, could have been a movie star in Westerns like Willie, Kristofferson, Waylon did. He looked like he had Indian blood in him. Glad to know he lived a long life.

This song is about my grandfather. He is the man in the video. Mr. Mitchell owned a small sock mill, and I was working there the summer he wrote this. He came to me at the mill, read the words to me, and told me how the music would be played. Then, he asked if I found it worthy. Through my tears, all I could muster was a thank you and a hug. The video was filmed in my grandfathers home. It's a memory I'll never forget
