Heat 2 oven safe glass to correct low temp. Take glass out of oven place record between glass. add weight and wait. I would leave it for days.

Just tried this on an Ozzy record that came from the UK and it was badly warped from manufacturing or shipping across the pond. I did actually what you did and it worked perfectly. Other videos say to leave it in the oven for 1/2 hour but for ten minutes and put a weight on it for an hour works. I just thought it was funny you got a warped record from US and I got one from UK.

You don't realize that the tops of the grooves are flattened.

Hello, I tried flattening several records using the method shown in your video. Step by step, and from time to time, I tried, carefully and gradually to slightly raise the heat temperature to try and flex the record, but unfortunately there was no change and the record remained warped. I use two pieces of 10 ml glass, which compared to most of the videos I see online, is relatively thick. I chose this thickness for fear that the glass would shatter. Could you advise please? Thanks.

Looks like it worked pretty well. I've tried something similar . Placing record on turntable then placing a second platter on top of the record upside down with extra mat in place. Then warming with hair dryer. Seemed to help some, but mixed results. Your system seems better. Will try.

I did as you told with 2 records and it didn't help. I am tempted to rise the temperature a bit.

Common sense .... if you reach the heat required to change lp shape ... what's happening to the groove walls? ...... don't accept warped new pressings is the answer. You cannot fix what the factory messed up nor should you

Me and my Dads 70s R&R albums have a date this weekend. He gave me a great record 'clean' collection but most are warped from sitting around for decades.

Many thanks for making this video. I've just tried this with a warped record of my own, which was so warped the needle jumped up and down on the first track of both sides, skipping repeatedly, but now it's flat enough to play through just fine after doing your glass chopping board method. I put a dumbell weight on the top board for an hour after heating as I didn't have a block of wood, which served just fine as a substitute.

Where'd you kids get the idea these were called, "vinyls"?? I never hear you calling CD's, "plastics' or, "foils". These are called, RECORDS! Or, you can call them ALBUMS. The smaller ones are called, SINGLES or 45's (because they play at 45 rpm). The bigger ones, like this one, can also be called, 33's (because they play at 33 rpm). The bigger ones that play at 45 rpm are usually called, 12-INCH SINGLES. Some play at 33 but are still called 12-INCH SINGLES.
