It is awesome to see that you discovered Karen Carpenter Nandi. Karen was ahead of her time in so many respects, and yes, she was a fantastic drummer!

The biggest differences I can see are that over time Nandi has better control of her arms now with the movements being far more economical and here facial expressions are a little bit less manic.

The main difference I notice is that Karen held her sticks like a jazz drummer (left hand notice). It gives just a little bit more subtlety.
