I grew up in Downey and have stayed here as staycations in the 90s; even worked there in the mid 2000s for the Warren High School ROP program ("Hotel Occupations"). It's crazy to see how much it's changed.

Have you ever stood in the king suite? I want to book a room but I want to make sure I have the big windows. I seen a video here on KZbin but they weren’t too clear on what room they booked. Their room was a lil bigger with the 2 big windows.

There’s a few room suite options. Someone uploaded a video of a standard suite, which is the next room option up from this. It’s a tad larger, but I’d recommended the executive suite or the one bedroom. I’ve been wanting to come back to this hotel to do a suite review.

Last time i was there was about 12 years ago. I liked it better then. The rooms now look a lot smaller and less fancy and a lot more expensive

I agree.. this new hollow Ikea look with fake food floors doesn’t feel as classy. The new prices are too much.

So now this hotel is for homeless people?
@CatalinaFOIA3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is
@jasonx843 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately yes.. it was part of operation room key by the government in 2020. The website says that the hotel is undergoing a renovation and should open in 2022.
@VickieVale3673 жыл бұрын
@@jasonx84 I find it amazing that the government couldn’t just build more permanent housing for the homeless. The need is there but it seems like the officials don’t care. I can only imagine what it may look like in that hotel now. The homeless problem in LA is growing really fast.
@jasonx843 жыл бұрын
@@VickieVale367 I totally agree with you. The lack of real affordable housing and preference to build “luxury” apartments all over is sad. The sidewalks have literally been taken over by tents.

I STAYED in the hotel they stole all my stuff, physically hit & pushed me. They stole my expensive MAC Laptop, GHD Hair straighteners, by packing my stuff for me. I'm from ENGLAND and we will never go back to LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How you book a room with a tub by the window in DTLA? I can’t book this kind of room in normal
@jasonx843 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply, but you’re right. My first stay was in the same room type but 2 queen beds and it wasn’t by the window. This one was a king bed so I guess I got lucky.

How quiet are the rooms?
@jasonx845 жыл бұрын
Nick Durst the bedroom portion was pretty quiet even though one group of people were partying for about 2 hours in the evening on their balcony. The living room section is fairly quiet also but since the hotel has an atrium-style layout, you can hear large gatherings on the ground floor and people eating breakfast in the morning.

It has changed A LOT since I've been there. I was there in the mid 80's use to have a kitchen and a tub. The cost was $105.00 per night.

Wow I’m sure it felt more luxurious back then. I’m not a huge fan of the Ikea style furniture and fake wood floors that they upgraded to because of the hollow feel and echos.

Does ALL deluxe 2 queen bed come in a corner room? (Includes 2 windows on different side walls) And also on the website pics there are deluxe doubles and deluxe queens wats the difference?
@jasonx845 жыл бұрын
Hippedtech 0229 Hi! All the deluxe rooms are corner rooms, however I would check with the hotel when using their direct site. Sometimes, the same rooms listed on travel sites, like hotels.com, which I use, will have a slightly different name for the room type by miscommunication with the hotel listing it. That said, I was unaware of Deluxe Doubles. My stays have always been in Deluxe Queen and 2 Queen rooms.
@peng17905 жыл бұрын
CoCoCounty thank you, I use hotels.com too and on it, it said 2 queen room. So would that be a corner, like stated in the photos? Also in the deluxe 2 queen photos on hotels.com there’s 2 corner rooms pic shown, 1 seems a lot “better” than the other. And on the official websites pictures the one that’s “better” has a caption that says “queen deluxe” or something like that and the other says “double deluxe” or something like that. So I was wondering if there was a difference and/or if the hotel gets to decide whichever room u get?

Is it kid-friendly? We're planning a family trip and looking for a hotel that can be family friendly.
@jasonx845 жыл бұрын
Lathyra Ranger to be honest, now that I think about it, I only remember seeing one couple with a kid. It’s definitely more of an adult atmosphere but there’s lots to do downtown for families.
