I don't think it does, but I'm not 100% certain of that. I've never heard of it in the context of this unit and it never shuts down. I own 3 of them and none of them ever shut down or go into any kind of power saving mode.

this model is just in pass thru mode until it lose's power or voltage gets to low / high then it switched over to battery.

I would absolutely not use Li Ion batteries in this unit. The charging requirements for them are different from the lead acid batteries used in UPS units.

@@GardinerTom I looked up compatible replacement battery for the latest version of CP1500PFCLCD on Battery+ and they show a couple of 12.8V 9AH Lithium SLA batteries as compatible for the unit. Unfortunately, they're 2.5x more expensive compared to the Lead Acid batteries.

Well, that's pretty incompatible with my wallet! 😊

It's remarkably quiet for a 1 1/4 hp machine and a lot quieter than the old 1/2 hp unit it replaced. Of course it makes a ruckus when grinding harder objects like bones, but still nowhere near the level of noise the old unit produced. I've been using it for over 6 months and absolutely love it.

I have no idea why the video looks so bad now. It was fine shortly after I uploaded it and when I saw your comment I was initially confused ... then the video started playing and it looks terrible! I swear it didn't look like this initially and I probably have the original on my hard drive, the entire thing was done in 1080p. Oh well...

Sure! I can't speak to their longevity, but in the 3-4 months I've had them in the new unit they've been fine. I've run a half dozen or so tests on the UPS just to make sure the batteries are holding up and so far everything's been great. My display "died" when the unit was only about 2 years old, but you don't really need it. Just install the CyberPower PowerPanel software on your computer and you can get all the info you need from it. If you give it away, you're giving away a perfectly good UPS, now with new batteries, and that would be a shame. I wish I was nearby because I'd gladly take a free UPS with new batteries and a dead display! 🙂

@@tardisintrepid800That sounds like a good option! Glad I could help in a small way. I do like the new ones with the color screens that tilt. I have 2 newer ones and the displays on both are still very bright after about 3 years. I just couldn't toss my old one when it only needed batteries. It's used for my entertainment center, but since that's all run through a PC I can still use the software. I really wish manufacturers made PCs with remote switching for use in entertainment centers. I can watch literally any streamer, play games, surf the web, etc. just using a wireless keyboard and mouse. And a PC is MUCH faster than any smart TV or TV stick. I really don't know why that's not a more popular setup because for me it's perfect.

Sadly, the performers/the band doesn't have an official name. They're incredibly talented performers hired on contract by Norwegian Cruise Lines who work together for a contract period usually consisting of several months. As I understand it, they'll sometimes re-sign together to stay together, but mostly they tend to move around so it's rare to see the same exact group of performers together unless you sail multiple times on the same ship during their contract period. To be clear "Norwegian Breakaway" is the name of the ship. I think the band simply refers to themselves as the Syd Norman's Band. We just refer to them as the best damned entertainment on the seas!

Unfortunately, the only plugs are across from the bed at the desk area. If you need to plug in a CPAP you can ask your butler for an extension cord. I know running a cord across the floor isn't an ideal solution, but it'll get the job done. Cruise ships aren't known for having a lot of outlets. The closest thing I've seen in any stateroom is USB charging plugs by the bedside.

I'm honestly not sure if they do anymore. I sailed on the Breakaway 4 times last year; 3 times were Caribbean cruises, and 1 time was to the Northeast/Nova Scotia. They never retracted the roof during any of those trips, even though there were many days of truly perfect weather on all 4 voyages. I've been on the Getaway, the Breakaway's sister ship, but not in the Haven though I've heard the roof on it isn't retractable so maybe it proved problematic or unpopular? Just a guess.

Also, on the Breakaway, the Haven restaurant is very small so there's permanent overflow/"outside" seating in the courtyard. It helps seat more guests during the very few times the restaurant proper gets overcrowded and many people enjoy the feeling of eating "outside" while having the comforts of climate control. I'd guess that's the bigger reason for no longer opening the roof. We've sat out there and it's really nice on a sunny day, especially for breakfast and afternoon snack time.
