Thanks for the perfect video. My CP1500PFCLD original batteries just died after 10 years of continuous use! Amazing! Guess I got my money's worth!

Thank you for letting me know the video was helpful! I've only made a few "how-to" vids so I appreciate the kind words. Also ... 10 years for batteries is awesome! I only got about 6 1/2 years out of mine. Here's to another 10 years!!

I got 10 years of use out of my original batteries too. So I decided to get OEM replacements instead of 3rd party batteries. They cost $80 on Amazon. That's a bit more (20'ish more dollars at the time of my purchase) than the reputable 3rd party vendors. But I felt the extra cost was worth the investment considering the performance of the original CyberPower batteries. Installation is a bit easier too as you don't have to take apart the original batteries to reuse the center panel like you have to do if using 3rd party batteries.

Awesome! The battery in my 1500PFC just died and noticed the large brick. Thank you for showing it does come apart!

I'm glad it was useful to you! It took me a lot longer & was more difficult than the video implies, but that was mainly because I was figuring it out as I went. Thank you for the kind words.

I just replaced mine. It was 5 years old and the display wasn't working, so thought it was the batteries. I replaced them according to this video (thanks!), could NOT get the 2 batteries to mesh back together seamlessly but managed to cram it back into the case anyway. So... display STILL doesn't work. I don't like not being able to get feedback about operation so will probably give it away. Darn.

My display "died" when the unit was only about 2 years old, but you don't really need it. Just install the CyberPower PowerPanel software on your computer and you can get all the info you need from it. If you give it away, you're giving away a perfectly good UPS, now with new batteries, and that would be a shame. I wish I was nearby because I'd gladly take a free UPS with new batteries and a dead display! 🙂

@@GardinerTom True, BUT, I have a new one on my computers, was going to move this one to router extender, ie no PC near it. May have to rethink this. Anyway, thanks!

Oh wait, so I can switch THIS one back to the PCs, and move the new one to the other router. OK, thanks for helping me sort this out :)

@@tardisintrepid800That sounds like a good option! Glad I could help in a small way. I do like the new ones with the color screens that tilt. I have 2 newer ones and the displays on both are still very bright after about 3 years. I just couldn't toss my old one when it only needed batteries. It's used for my entertainment center, but since that's all run through a PC I can still use the software. I really wish manufacturers made PCs with remote switching for use in entertainment centers. I can watch literally any streamer, play games, surf the web, etc. just using a wireless keyboard and mouse. And a PC is MUCH faster than any smart TV or TV stick. I really don't know why that's not a more popular setup because for me it's perfect.

Please tell me, does this UPS have GREEN POWER technology? This function shuts down the UPS when there is a low load connected to it. If this feature exists, can it be disabled?
@GardinerTom
@GardinerTom 11 ай бұрын
I don't think it does, but I'm not 100% certain of that. I've never heard of it in the context of this unit and it never shuts down. I own 3 of them and none of them ever shut down or go into any kind of power saving mode.

this model is just in pass thru mode until it lose's power or voltage gets to low / high then it switched over to battery.

Can you post a link to the batteries you used? Or, tell me the brand and part number of them please. I have 3 of these UPS units - and one needs batteries. Thanks Update: I found them on Amazon - ExpertPower EXP-1290.

You found the same brand & model I used! Two for $45 on Amazon? Here's the link in case you haven't purchased yet or these are cheaper. It's probably the same item(s), but linking anyway just in case. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NJ3H0C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

What are your thoughts on getting LiOn replacement batteries?
@GardinerTom
@GardinerTom 11 ай бұрын
I would absolutely not use Li Ion batteries in this unit. The charging requirements for them are different from the lead acid batteries used in UPS units.

@@GardinerTom I looked up compatible replacement battery for the latest version of CP1500PFCLCD on Battery+ and they show a couple of 12.8V 9AH Lithium SLA batteries as compatible for the unit. Unfortunately, they're 2.5x more expensive compared to the Lead Acid batteries.

Sure! I can't speak to their longevity, but in the 3-4 months I've had them in the new unit they've been fine. I've run a half dozen or so tests on the UPS just to make sure the batteries are holding up and so far everything's been great. Two batteries for $45 and a little work is a deal in my book, at least so far. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NJ3H0C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
