Coming along! I have no idea on the airbag suspension kit you are installing but I do have a couple of questions. On the reinforcement plate for the rearend: would it it work correctly if you sandwiched it between the rearend housing and the cover while using a gasket on each side or is that not an option? On the nuts/bolts on the bracket: could you have made a tab to weld on the nut or to the bolt to hold it in place inside the bracket so you wouldn’t have to use pliers to hold it? Not criticizing just asking…man this thing looks like you are doing all the engineering and fab work, but it is coming along nicley! Can’t wait to see how it turns out!!

Oh yeah, basically rebuilt the whole thing other than bolts at this point. I'm still waiting on missing stuff, but I ordered from other places to get it done. Paid with Amex, it always works out in the end. The double gasket would be extra work. Also, it would shift the top forward over a 1/4 inch. This way was less work. The tab on the nut is a good idea. That or just weld the nut to the bracket. I think I was a little annoyed at another issue, so I just powered through without taking a step back and thinking like I should have. Always going to be bumps in the road. 👍

Happy Friday people! It's been a hectic few weeks. Here is an update on the not bolt on bolt on kit. 🤔 I'm still waiting on parts 3 weeks now. This week, no calls were returned by airbagit.com. Maybe they will, maybe they won't call next week. I won't hold my breath. I like being alive. 😂 Any who we keep moving forward. Code enforcement stopped by for a beer. And to tell me to get the s10 in the garage until it's a running driving tagged vehicle. So that's what we do. Have a great weekend! 😎

Stop whining you'll find that everything to do with racing and hot rods is never ever ever bolt on. It always needs some sort of modifying to make it work that's why hard-core builders and racers. Just make stuff from scratch anyway have fun with your stuff.
@thisoldhooptie

I'm pretty sure you have mistaken my criticism as whining. I can and am making everything needed to make it work. Most or all others who buy a bolt-on kit would expect it to be just that. A bolt-on kit. There is a very big difference in adjusting or tweaking vs re manufacture. Unless you like being misdirected or false advertisement. That's your call. Have a great day 👍

Hey guys. I have a full video out with the first half of the so-called 88 to 98 Chevy c1500 bolt on kit. I have reached out almost daily, and so far, i have been told the building of correct parts are being held up due to them being out of steel tube. We are now almost 3 weeks into calling and explaining the issues and missing components. I went and purchased the correct longer diff bolts and the missing bolts for the gas tank cross memeber bracket. This bracket is temporary, i will make a new crossmember that works later. This current bracket setup is super iffy. As you see, nothing has fit right so far. Like I said, one way or the other, this is getting wrapped up. If the company stands behind it's product I will totally explain in detail what they do in the end. In the meantime, smile and enjoy the ride 😎

On that wishbone mount it to the diff first before u mount the other end. It may have to have another bar mounted in behind that has tank cross member or u can get raised gas tank cross member from nfamus n weld that wishbone to it. Also check your wheel clearance now with those bag mounts. Depending on offset amd rim size it can get your tires or wheels. Regardless your doing great job making it work.
@thisoldhooptie
@thisoldhooptie 16 күн бұрын
Thank you. I appreciate the vote of confidence 😁 I will be testing the rims this weekend. You are right. It looks very close. Now that i am more comfortable, I can always move the bags behind the axle if needed. I was just looking at that raised tank crossmember. Either that or I have some very thick steel I may try and make something. I dont trust that stock gas tank crossmemeber as a mount point.
@GlassWerx

@thisoldhooptie yeah. My s10 at one time before we got it had a reversed 4 link bars can't stand that. I want everything under bed especially the gas tank. Iv passed on buying some nice trucks over the years bc gas tank n the bed. Just to me it's lazy n if that's done who knows what else was skimped out on. Now an air tank n compressors in bed is different and not a bother so much I just like the clean tucked and hidden look that's why iv got everything hidden in my civic. Pop the truck ud never know anything was back there

Sucks u had so many issues with the kit. The kits x2 sells especially this one are pretty muc knock off thorbro kits. Iv kooked at them for a quick build cheaper option myself but for couple hundred bucks more u can go to nfamus n get a weld in kit and so far over all the years of building those seem to be the best kits we have used. Still interested to see how this works out for ya n hope you dont have any more issues. Also in careful with sleeving the ubolt like that. Id suggest using thick wall pipe thats barely larger then the bolt so it doesnt move over time. Been there n learnd the hard way
@thisoldhooptie
@thisoldhooptie 16 күн бұрын
Thank you. I agree. Oddly enough, I had a suicidedoors.com bolt on cantilever 4 link 20 something years ago. I installed it on my old s10. Zero issues nothing was missing. That was Thorobro's beginning, i think. That Steel tube is from commercial grade powerlifting equipment. I will keep an eye on it. But yes, thinking about it, cutting a channel from top to bottom, then welding in a thick steel tube would have been a great way to do this. More welded area for support. 👍 I have been looking at the nfamus stuff. It looks good. Direct weld on is now the only way for me. To much welding in bolt on 🤣

You can either run power to the fuse block under the wheel if you're keeping that. That would give power to all in cab controlled items. Which are already connected to the stock light harnesses. Or do what I did add a small fuse block, then route that to the light wire harness to front and back along with the fuel pump and other items.

Looks like they are sold out, and that version may no longer be made. Look on Ebay for the company and ones like it. Do a search with the name and brand from my grill video description.
