OBS Chevy truck quad corner LED lights & Black Rust-Oleum Automotive Trim & Bumper Matte Spray Paint

In this video I refinish the window trim with Rust oleum trim and bumper spray paint then unbox and install new quad led sidelight turn signals on my 1992 c1500 OBS Silverado. Everything used in the video can be found down below.

The Rustoleum was mixed 4 parts paint / 2 parts acetone / 2oz Majic catalyst. The pieces came out great.
If you plan on doing something similar, test something small first to learn your recoat and dry times for the products you choose. Your local temp and humidity will effect your project. :)

Oh yeah 👍 in the grand scheme of things the trim is an easy fix if they are not ripped up. Cheap too, it was under $25 including paint, paper and tape.

I’ve seen them sequential on utube somewhere but they might have been custom I never got led in front because of that hyper flash I have them in rear replaced flasher how did u fix hyper flash anyway looks great really clean!

Thanks 😁 Look up using a resister to stop hyperflashing leds. That should get you fixed up. I would love the sequential look. Probly have to make them one day when I have time. 👍

I just got done with my grille last weekend, converted to a 94-98 style grille, had to purchase two new inner bumper brackets, but it gave me the chance to take everything down and paint the brackets, tow hooks, nuts n bolts. Been waiting to put this grille on for a few months now, and like you I had to add some extra special custom attachment locations lol. I was very happy with the results, but boy lemme tell you... mine is very annoying to remove - already had to remove once to reinstall the bumper, but she looks great! I have an extra set up upper ball joints from Kryptonite that should fit one of your two OBS's btw, if you plan on making a video on changing out your suspension/steering parts on your front end let me know. I haven't been able to sell em on Ebay and they weren't that expensive but if you want em I'll send em to ya. They didn't fit on my K2500 due to the different bolt pattern and angle.

Thanks bro appreciate that. Ill keep it in mind, I need to figure out if I'm swapping the engine or doing the bags first. My son wants me to take him to school in it so may do the bags first its faster still debating in my mind. I've dug in deep on the s10 wiring and made some progress. I will have a video out on that later this week. As for the grill I feel your pain. 4 times in the last 7 days have pulled the grill and put it back. 2 in one day last week when could not make up my mind on the temp side lights 🤣

The side corner lenses should not hyper flash I've had a set should go in a sequence

Mine don't hyper flash, and they are not sequential. I will eventually get or make a set for the fro t and back. I really wanted the sequential leds like the mustang tail light turn signals.

@@thisoldhooptie thank you always wanted to do a black truck but hate the maintenance u wash them once and game over. I have 2 color in mine for my 89 stepside charcoal gray or blue

@@sebolloobs6665 very true, it gets very dirty sitting in my driveway after a week or two. This was just to have it all one color while I work on my s10. Once I can drive the s10 I'm doing the suspension, ls swap and a metal flake job again on the c1500. I have enjoyed the black though its a nice look.

Thank you 👍I'm just making sure my tahoe is a solid driver so I can either start the ls swap or install the new suspension on this truck. If I start on the ls swap I will paint the bed then reinstall it to save space. I should have things figured out this week.

To remove over spray on the windows use 0000 steel wool it works the best walmart has it or home depot , Lowes. Just don't use it on tint

Yes it does and yes it was from home depot in the tape and glue isle of the paint section.

What headlights are you using?

They are listed in the description under the corner lights. I would definitely check that the seal is good on the headlights. If not, grab a tube of clear silcone and seal the whole front piece. I have not had moisture issues. Others have and mentioned that to me. Good luck with your project 👍

Yes, its in the tape isle just below the masking tape. They have thick and thin I used the thin never had it bleed.

Some are original from the 90s others were from amazon and eBay. Search for c1500 billet dash and see what pops up. Also Jeremy over at Cunningham machine is remaking many pieces look him up at the website Cunninghammachine.com or on the Facebook obs chevy truck forums.

How did you wire the halo lights and turn signals together? What was the step?

I spliced the only the halo wires from the headlight into the lower turn signal harness wire. The best way is to solder them together. You could yellow but connectors just be sure to add heat shrink over them to keep water tight.
