Did you see my video on the firing pin removal? if so you may want to familiarize yourself with it if you plan on cleaning that area too. I will have the basic cleaning video for the Girsan MC28 V2 out by November 13/2024. thank you for asking as it gives me inspiration for the video, cheers.

I have a Finn M39 made in 1942 with an hexagonal receiver and you shot very well with it using Chinese ammo using an 1891 by the sights you are using. I have to improve my marksmanship better, Mosin triggers are not bad especially my M91/30 made post war 1946 but with again an hexagonal receiver. I just need more practice with it.

thanks brother, it was a learning curve on this item for me to say the least. loading it properly is paramount as is the ammo type used. After those two things if it doesn’t do the job then and only then did I proceed with the fix mentioned in the video. it is not for the timid or those lacking a respect for stored energy in springs. I am about 99% certain the GSG-15 and the Mauser drum mags are one and the same. are you in Canada or elsewhere? I got mine online from Cabellas. decent price at the time and always quick shipping. I acquired a very good condition Finnish M39 dated 1942 with a B barrel back in 1996. It was built on a pre-1898 Russian receiver so it counts as an Antique. I bought the rifle because it could be delivered to my doorstep here in Kalifornia; it was my way of thumbing my nose at Kali's anti-gun policies.😁

I recently bought a GSG-16. I love the simplicity and layout. I have watched your GSG-16 videos and learned a lot. I installed the Feyachi bipod as well. I went to the range last week and put about 150 rounds through it. It worked surprisingly well, but there were a few jams. I was using cheap bulk ammo. Many say the gun is ammo fussy. Which ammo do you recommended? PS/ I am also a Canadian. I live in NB. Thanks in advance.
@JohnVanDykАй бұрын
Hi Brother thanks for watching a leaving a comment. I generally use Blazer 22 lr in my GSG-16 & GSG-15 if I’m using the stick mag that came with it. If I’m using the drum mag I use CCI AR Tactical ammo. Have you got into the bolt yet for cleaning? It could be getting dirty from the generally dirtier bulk ammo. You could also try CCI Mini Mag ammo to see if it works better. I have also heard they need a breaking in period, perhaps for the feed ramp to smooth out some. Good luck and happy pew pewwing.

Is it tack welded? Some are, or in some cases they are dimpled in pretty good both those scenarios would require some fine Dremel work. What you don't seem to comprehend is that, from the beginning, these were never meant to be used with rifled barrels. There used to be smooth bored .22 shotguns. In England, they were referred to as garden guns, rook rifles and such and were in other calibers as well for taking care of garden pests without the danger of troubling the neighbors. The rifling in your weapon causes the shot to spiral within the barrel, imparting a centrifugal, outward force, widening the cone of shot beyond that which a smooth bore would. In consequence, it's usefulness is considerably shortened in reliable results at any given range within the purview of a reasonably sized garden area Many will use them in pistols for the occasional snap shot at an intruding snake or whatnot, at limited range where a rifle's length would be more encumbrance than boon.
@JohnVanDykАй бұрын

Buckets and boxes of 22 lmao over years I’ve never really thought about how many rounds it has
@JohnVanDykАй бұрын
That’s a shite ton of ammo down a 22 for sure lol. I keep a log book of how much ammo I put through each rifle and pistol I own, probably an OCD thing on my part. I like the kick from a larger calibre but the 22 are more cost effective for high capacity days at the range. Yea the shot shells in my video are older looking packages than they look today, I got them out of a used bargain bin at my local armoury just for the novelty of them but thought “what the hell may as well try them out” hey Brother thanks for watching and leaving the comment, cheers.

If there are no markings on this pistol other than the serial number then it is the type 20 varient that China sent to North Vietnam during the war. All of the normal markings were deleted so China could deny sending weapons to North Vietnam.

Ok wow checked out the M20 Tokarev variant and they actually had M20 on the top of the slide… I was today years old when I learned of this pistol. Still leaves me wondering why the one I have, a 1954 Type 54 does not have the 66 on it, perhaps because it was early production and they hadn’t started to include the 66? Or perhaps they still had some type 51 parts as they transferred over to the full type 54 model??? So many questions so few answers… thanks again for your input👍
