Finnish Mosin Nagant range test

I acquired a very good condition Finnish M39 dated 1942 with a B barrel back in 1996. It was built on a pre-1898 Russian receiver so it counts as an Antique. I bought the rifle because it could be delivered to my doorstep here in Kalifornia; it was my way of thumbing my nose at Kali's anti-gun policies.😁

I have a Finn M39 made in 1942 with an hexagonal receiver and you shot very well with it using Chinese ammo using an 1891 by the sights you are using. I have to improve my marksmanship better, Mosin triggers are not bad especially my M91/30 made post war 1946 but with again an hexagonal receiver. I just need more practice with it.

thank you for the comment Brother. I do get out to the range quite often. I take this rifle out once in a while, but this was the first time using a bench and bags… I was happy with the performance for sure… these rifles really do hold up well but yes must be cautious of the Chinese ammo. cheers 👍

thanks for the comment, was my best with that old rifle so far. a scope would likely improve it but I wouldn’t want to alter the “stock” configuration. I just really love the furniture on this one.

the Finnish had Sako make new barrels so they are good rifles,

I know there are several configurations on the Finnish Mosins as they put them together from various sources. I’m not sure without checking but I believe mine still has the Tula barrel attached. Either way the Finns definitely improved these rifles and refined them to shoot true and from what I’ve seen, too last the test of time. Do you own one as well? I think that is a Finnish M28/30. straight stock. rear sight. more accurate than a M39 I do believe.
