An insider reportedly said Rockstar was never interested in remastering or remaking their older games, that it was "beneath them" as a company. I think it was Take-Two that decided to outsource it or forced Rockstar to outscore it. Something like that. I think these games are old enough where they would benefit most from a full-out remake with modern features. There's just elements too dated for a simple remaster, especially if they keep basing it on a crappy mobile port. I know some will say you might lose something from a full-out remake or reimagining, but I think it would still be cool to see and you always have the original SOMEWHERE in one way or another, so I never thought that was a good excuse. They should still put the original PC versions back on Steam tho.

The out of bounds chat at 1:36 was very relatable, was playing Shadow warrior 2013 for the first time yesterday and had the fucking cheek to explore the level for secrets (which the game encourages), ended up sequence breaking causing a soft lock.

I wouldn't lay into the testers too hard, a QA tester can report a bug, but if the developer just wants to move onto their next project and decides to not to read a bug report or decides they don't have time/want to fix the problem then what's a tester meant to do? I'm pretty sure Barcode have prematurely moved on before so that they could work on a new project.

Generally JD's portion of gameplay should've been handled differently. I played the original release, and I hoped this would be changed. The stark contrast between canon JD and this mod's JD isn't even funny. It's weird in a bad sense. And this could've been handled differently. Less missions for starters since they do get simply boring. Another thing is that instead of making him do Rambo-tier havoc he should actually use RC cars or helicopters. That mission where Salvatore raids the club to kill every Sindacco he sees could've been handled that way. JD could've used RC cars to blow up oncoming Sindacco reinforcements, the player should prevent them from entering the club's proximity. Maybe the devs will release yet another update someday. This mod has potential, but even with this update it's not necessarily good but neither explicitly bad. The only thing that really stands out to me is that they were capable of doing custom missions on a console release-only game. At the same time, I feel like this limits the potential this mod could have, since it wouldn't really be a problem to get a mod like this under VC's PC port.

I have to give credit at least to having the option to disable AI voices. Never liked that crap (for reasons that should be obvious). I remember watching some of the original videos and this mod looks like a mixed bag. Hopefully this 2.0 makes the game at least close to good.
