Question sir , how do I install that plastic piece in the middle of the grinder, mine came off and for the sick life of me can’t align it back
@adamshufan36443 ай бұрын
Hi, great video. Do you know what spec the grinder motor is? Thinking about replacing it with a slower rpm motor with more torque. Do you think this would be possible, maybe with a dc motor?

AU doesnt mean Australia it means Amplifier Unit. It was universal posh speak for Radio when you had ia high end set back in the day. If you didn't have i high end set you would get a model number with R1, R2, R3, or whatever modification they were. Simply meaning radio version. That's a Rolls Royce you have there of what was available at the time.

🤗 ~ I have a SANYO M2526LG mono boombox, and the analog battery/VU meter has the same styling to its scale as the one that I have in the Sanyo, except with mine the VU scale is coloured green to match the radio tuning scale, yours is white, and the needle looks stuck/jammed ~ with playback of cassette/radio the meter will indicate battery charge and the needle should swing to the right = if batteries were installed they are fully charged/if powered from the mains = a physical power indicator, when the batteries start discharging and become weak = the needle will deflect into the red part of it scale and the cassette recorder will be slow and the radios tuning performance will deteriorate ~ the batteries need replacement/recharging. When a blank cassette is inserted into the recorder and it’s overwrite tabs are intact, and record is pressed the needle should be swinging to the VU level being recorded to the cassette. I have the electrical schematic for my SANYO and the meter indication is determined by the play/record switch for the tape head. As for the monitor switch = for listing to cassette recording ~ off for recording with a microphone to prevent feedback, soft for recording a strong station on the radio and the aux input, and loud for recording a low station on the radio

Hi, I also have T-1100s, how did you managed to take out the decorative aluminium panel? Mine seems like is fixed around the Rec Level knob and I didn’t managed to take out this knob. Al other screws (3 underneath and few upper and lateral were taken out and now only around rec level something is keeping it from taking it out) Thanks Ps: are the any other screws around the rec level that I can’t see? I know about 2 of them but there are under the decorative aluminim panel from what I saw in other videos
@noidle22 Жыл бұрын
There are screws under the record level knob. The knob should just pull off with light/medium force unless someone has glued it on for some reason.
@calincojocaru Жыл бұрын
Ok so I understand that first I need to take out the knob, then unscrew the 2 screws and after that I could finally take out the decorative aluminium panel and after that I will unscrew another screws to detach the button panel in order to take out the mechanism?
@noidle22 Жыл бұрын
You need to remove the brass shaft that runs back into the record level potentiometer as well, this just pulls straight out once you have removed the surround under the knob. The metal should come off, there's four screws that hold the transport to the plastic frame and maybe some more around the sides and underneath. The whole front panel can then fold up and rests on the top, no need to unplug everything. Makes removal of the transport very easy.
@calincojocaru Жыл бұрын
Ok thanks a lot I will try tonight, but until now the rec level knob didn’t get out of the axle no matter how hard I tried… :(

The main reason is consistency. You'd get a lot more pulls with channeling if you don't tamp.
That crema was ridiculous! I need to figure out how to get my Oracle to make it that good. And thank you for this little experiment. I think that so much of coffee snobbery is just that, and every bit as disingenuous as wine snobbery.
@noidle222 жыл бұрын
Fresh beans and a correctly set grinder should be all you need for a great extraction with plenty of crema. The Oracle can take some experimenting with grind size to get it right, one thing to remember is anytime you make a grind adjustment, it'll take two shots for the extraction to change. This is due to the retention in the grinder.

How was the taste ???? Which is the main point behind this whole process!!!
@noidle223 жыл бұрын
The point was just to show extraction differences between tamping and not tamping. Taste is subjective, however, they tasted the same to me.
@devildman31283 жыл бұрын
@@noidle22 actually if the point was testing for extraction, then you would use a refractometer... the second "extraction" had significantly more channeling too. If they taste the same to you, I think you haven't developed your palette yet...
@noidle223 жыл бұрын
@@devildman3128 I'd argue there wasn't "significantly" more channelling in the second shot. Certainly some at the start but throughout the shot it didn't get much worse. Can't really see how you can judge my own tastes but ok. If I ever get a refractometer I may redo the test and see what it has to say.
