That's what I call a a proper radio, it's so cool not like the shite made these days. I love it.

I had seen this stereo in an ad of Aug 1981 edition of JAL magazine. There was one more stereo ad in that magazine, the Sanyo C7. I was just 5 then😂

I wasn't even close to being born when these were on the market, I do envy the days gone by of hifi and record shops which I never experienced.

@@noidle22 by late 90s & early 2000s, stereo hifi was replaced by multichannel. I have worked in home hifi but joined pro audio around 2007. The entry of multichannel destroyed stereo. Headphones + internet is today's sound system. I still prefer a simple sterei setup.

The meter button helps you to tune a radio station properly. In TUNE mode all the LEDs lit up when the radio station is best tuned.

AU doesnt mean Australia it means Amplifier Unit. It was universal posh speak for Radio when you had ia high end set back in the day. If you didn't have i high end set you would get a model number with R1, R2, R3, or whatever modification they were. Simply meaning radio version. That's a Rolls Royce you have there of what was available at the time.
