I would like to see a video on, how the roof panels attach to the walls. And how this connection is insulated and sealed.
@MrDhalli650010 күн бұрын
In the video where you were building your female employees home you spoke about the Zip flashing to cover over the expansion area where the two panels come together, and you said it required a roller and it left a Z imprint on the flashing. Maybe if you have a couple of scrap pieces lying around you could give a demonstration of what that looks like, because I haven't seen that yet.

You should start offering plans/designs that you know work well with the SIP panels...I know some folks would be interested (myself included!)

I seen on a different video the concern of calling it cheater panel came up so my input is maybe rectifier panels? Or could go precision rectifier panels and call them PR panels for short..

When my sips home was built they had to trim a panel. Your panels lock together right. How is trimming possible?
@EcoPanelsofTennessee22 күн бұрын
Great question. Generally speaking, at the end of each wall we have an adjustment panel that connects more like a traditional SIP. Depending on the design, we may have more opportunty for this type of connection to allow for adjustments.

Structural Insulated Panel - Basically, we remove most of the wood framing in a wall and replace it with a very dense foam that becomes structural, becoming 2-3x stronger than a typical framed homes, and incredibly more energy efficient. Thanks for the question!
@RidgelifeRamblings27 күн бұрын
And we are finding out how they can handle seismic loads as well! Thanks, Josh.

Strange to say SIPS are better insulated than stick built when you can build a stick 3 foot deep and fully enclosed if you desired.
@EcoPanelsofTennessee28 күн бұрын
Honestly, I would think it's strange to suggest bothering to build a stick framed wall 3 feet deep, but to each their own. Best of luck with that wall!
@PazLeBon28 күн бұрын
@@EcoPanelsofTennessee lol exterior insulation is becoming the standard, protecting that inner frame and that depth is a postive not a negative. Why be so defensive? totally missing the basic point that you can build a stick frame as good as you want to build it

Yes they can be used with SIP panels. Just fallow the manufacturer’s directions, I have been using SIP panels for the last twenty years, they truly are a fabulous way to build. SIP master builder Terry Bliss

@terrybliss7261 where do you build??
@terrybliss726126 күн бұрын
@@ericraleigh7363 I build in northern Minnesota, I use Extreme Panels that are made in Minn. but they sell them all over the world. Extreme panel engineers the panel for the location that it is going to be built. Here in Minnesota we need a 60 lb snow load, in the gulf coast areas you would need wind loads of 120mph? and they do that.

Can hurricane ties be screwed directly into the panel?
@EcoPanelsofTennesseeАй бұрын
Great question. In some cases, yes. We may need to incorporate some additional blocking to accommodate anchor points. That said, if there's a high wind situation, we often have strapping that's more specific to the structure and engineered.

Heeling Greetings,My Ecopanels Of Tennessee Friends.. I've purposely waited to leave my comment regarding Our Good Friend Rob Clutter's Passing. I took his loss rather hard. Rob literally ate,slept and Lived Ecopanels Of Tennessee.. His conveyance of "Truth In His Messaging" was beyond genuine.. He really lived it.. His Legacy to his Family,To You Fine Folks,and to Us simply would be that we can't udder the phrase "I don't know". Rob led and showed Us the way forward.. Your Legacy to him would be to plow forward and bring just a little "Touch Of His Amazing Soul" with yourselves on The Continuing Journey.. Forward We Go..!! Thanx For Everything,Rob..!!❤

Is that even safe to live in? Looks like it's made out of wood chips. Why not use pre cast armed concrete walls?!
@EcoPanelsofTennessee2 ай бұрын
Yes, incredibly so, along with efficient and sustainable. A little research goes a long way. People case use concrete walls, sure. We set SIP panels on pre-cast concrete basements all the time. But they're not always practical or desirable to build a whole home with. SIPs are super efficient, quick, much stronger than conventional framing and relatively light. There's a lot of benefits over concrete.

Can a powered retractable awning be mounted when most of the mounting length is osb?
@EcoPanelsofTennessee2 ай бұрын
It very likely could without additional reinforcement. It depends on the number of fasteners the mounting requires. The more opportunity, the better. That said, if we know this up front, we'll add some 2x blocking to the interior to the panel to allow for that connection. We commonly do this with cabinets, porch roof connections, etc. Great questions, thanks!
