Thanks for a great 👍 video. We also have a Kalorik Maxx. Even though ours is a different sub model than the one in the video this information still helped in getting our air fryer back up and running. Thanks again.

Dammit, I wish I could attempt this as mine died but I probably could only get as far as opening it. Maybe I could solder it but not much experience, then I'll be stuck at fixing the wire if that is the issue. When I have more time I'll probably get to it, thanks for the video!

@jeremyzebrowski376 believe it or not they weren't bad to deal with and the process itself was easy. Only downside was it took awhile of back and forth communication until we got the new one in the mail. Vs just going buying the part and fixing it yourself

Thanks good video. Didn’t even have to watch the whole thing. The first two minutes primed the pump tore mine apart found the thermal link used the ohm meter and checked the cord and link. Yep bad link ordered a dozen good to have on hand. Just verify your amps, V and °. Thanks for sharing as well in this throw away society we live in it’s a shame many people don’t even try and fix them.

Great advice!! Replaced the fuse I simply cut the fuse out and left some of the fuse wire on each end and soldered new fuse in i looped the fuse with original metal wire and soldered so easy.

Thank you for your video. I didnt have the solder gun so I used some butt connectors. Success. I'd rather solder so the sheath would go over repair like yours did. I had to cut the sheath and tape it back together with electrical tape. Most important, wife is happy.

Thx for making the video. Do you just cut the old fuse or is there a better way to remove it? Also what is crimping if I don't have a soldering iron? And last question, is your AF still working? Thx

Great video. Wonderful advice and instruction. My Kalorik uses Fuse # RY184C - Haven't found a replacement yet. Can we replace this thermal fuse with a new fuse-type coupling unit which allows for easier replacement?

Why, cause the tin welding?
@MRbigBearJR
@MRbigBearJR Жыл бұрын
Soft solder melting point is 190 - 840f depending on what you’re using. If the fuse is rated for 180 degrees it will pop again before the solder is affected. But crimping would be a good idea if your prefer.

@@MRbigBearJR Another vicitm of this shotty device. We should get a class action against Kalorik. in the meanwhile have you replaced with another fuse that has held up better. if so can you share where to source it and did you go with the solder or crimp? I dont have much experience with appliances but grew up working on cars so I can get by with enough cummulative pointing in the right direction. thanks in advance.

It has been working fine for over one year now. Maybe the fuse kalorik put in was trash. I didn't want to go hotter on the fuse because I would rather the fuse pop then start a fire.

You never solder a thermal fuse as it will change the temp on when it shuts off also if it gets to hot it could melt solder and cause a fire . Use crimp on connectors.

The temperature rating is manufacturer specific to keep the unit from starting a fire
@gustavoventurin

@jeremyzebrowski376 problem is this model air fryer can get up to 500F, which is the equivalent of 260C. While the fuse is not located within the air fryer itself, the ventilation on this is piss poor, with such a small fan that doesn't disperse heat very well. I would bump the thermal fuse to a higher rated one, or at the very least, replace the fan with something more powerful.
