Im 50 and never owned a set of tires that did NOT get a puncture (too close to sidewall) BEFORE the tread wore how. How the heck you make it 70K miles without one tire ruined?
@yumpinyiminy9639 күн бұрын
I was wondering were you lived. It's pretty green outside for February. These are great tires but you really don't need the "All Weather" rating that your paying for.

Thank you, now I know what my next tire will be, maybe Cross Climate 3 as my summer Michelins have few more years ahead!

75k is 15k over the tire warranty so that's pretty good for a tire and probably the most treadlife out of any tires in the last 3 to 4 decades. I bought a set of these when you could only get them wholesale. I don't drive my car too often so I've only got around 15k on mine, maybe, but they were pretty amazing in this Blizzard here in NE Kansas this past weekend. Everyone else was getting stuck, even 4WD's with proper tires (tread and winter tires), but here we are just driving around in 14 inches of snow and about an inch of ice under it all. I wished they made them in older pickup truck sizes because I'd have a set on that vehicle too. Michelin was on to something with these and have probably had the best designed tire in years. The last tire that made waves like this was the original Goodyear Aquatred's which had similar effects in the winter even tho they were really rated as a summer tire back then. Great vid.

Are these good for california hot summer and wer winter weather? I have been using Michlin defender.

I use them for winter tires on my Bolt EUV. Great tire, but they definitely take more energy than the low rolling resistance OEM tires. Worth it just as winter tires though.

Any issue with the 19" wheel size on the Rav4 Limited's rubbing the wheel wells? Because on mine they did badly on the front when I applied full lock. These tires are even visually far larger than the stock tires.

What’s the tire size??
@michaelgoode9555Ай бұрын
Tyre wear depends on a number of factors including the road surfaces that you drive and your tyre pressures. I keep our CC2's at 2psi over recommendation and have not seen any consumption or performance issues over the previous summer tyres that were fitted to my car from new in the UK. These perform brilliantly in the wet and icy conditions of central England as well as in the warmer summer. Best tyres that I have ever bought.
@pjimmbojimmbo1990Ай бұрын
4s and 5s... lots of tread life remaining. The Wear Ribs are still a ways down in the Tread, and in snow, they will wear very slowly

Update: These tires are LOUD on our 2018 Subaru Outback! Passengers constantly joke about a motorboat or an airplane following us. But quiet as can be on the 2014 Forester. Weird. (And more than a little annoying.) Guess you can never predict road noise.

I don’t wait until my tires are down to 2/32 to replace unless I’m coming up on a dry season. If I’m approaching winter and I’m low I’m getting new tires.

BTW I love the Comment about x or y brands. I've used most most of the best brands, Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear etc, can, and do, make excellent tires, they also make some less excellent ones. What makes Michelin stand over the rest is balance great performance all around. I've used ultra high performance and snow tires from all these brands for decades and what always brings me back to Michelin is that overall excellence in all tire characteristics. The cross climate is the apex of that philosophy, its not a high performance tire but it's still superb in summer, it's not as good as a WS bkizzak in winter, but its not too far from it. In that it stands where very few other tires on the market exist, its a great tire in any weather condition. Until someone comes up with a tire that can be as good in the summer as a Michelin PS4 in the summer and a Bridgstone WS series in the winter, it will reign supreme. No better flattery than Goodyear's newest all climate tire.....the tread (dont know about the rest of the tire) is a 100% copy of the cross climate.😂
@Wised10002 ай бұрын
They are superb in snow. As good as most dedicated snow tires. They are much, much better than any so called all season tire in any winter condition. That's their main forte. In general so called all season tires are OK to good in summer and terrible in winter. The Cross Climate is a very good tire regardless of the season. Other manufacturers have copied them (all weather category is growing) with variable success but the Cross Climate is still the snow king among them. The best description is a dedicated snow tire that you can use all year. Its all in the compound!

I'm also an Uber/Lyft Driver in Northern California and was looking for some All Terrain or All Season tires that did good in the snow and still had great comfort and low road noise on the highway. I've been using Bridgestone Turanza Quiettrack with 80k mile warranty but they only lasted about 60k miles each time. I'll definitely have to try the chalk test as I just recently learned about that! I was going to go with the Falken Wildpeak AS Trail but after seeing the outstanding reviews on America's Tire website and Tire Rack, I'm once again having a change of heart about which tires to get. Downside about these tires is that it's $1250 for a set of 4 with the Big O' Tire damage warranty.

Can you get Kleber tyres? I have used Michelin CC2’s in the past, but now have set of Kleber Quadraxer 3’s. Kleber is owned by Michelin. You never see the Kleber tyres in the same group test as the Michelins - because they are better. Better ride quality, quieter, but just as effective in the snow plus high aquaplaning resistance and excellent wet grip. They last too.. However they are 30% cheaper than Michelin CC’s.

I just bought 4 new Michelin Cross climate 2 tires to replace my Bridgestone Ecopia tyres that came with my brand new 2024 Subaru Forester and those were also great tires for driving also but are not winter rated and living in Northern Alberta Canada I need winter tires. I opted for the Cross climate 2 tires with some research before buying because they are winter rated with the 3 snow flakes symbol on the tire sidewalls + you do not need a second set of tires and rims to drive the other seasons. I did do sound testing with my audio feedback sensor I bought to see if there where a difference in DB audio, I'm pleased to mention that the audio feedback on the Michelin Cross climate tires are 1-2 DB quieter than my factory new Bridgestone tires (I will sell my Bridgestone tires now) . Michelin Cross climate 2 tires handle well and look aggressive also for the winter conditions that we have in Northern Canada with slush, snow and ice that makes driving a little scary sometimes. Very happy camper!!
