That red Holden Ute was a HJ model. The Belmont was a trim level, (lower spec) although I think the Belmont badge was from a similar shape HQ model.

The craftsmanship developed from using the available resources, when these aren't as plentiful as what you'd find in a developed country, is what makes those projects and events so good.

I've been traveling to Japan several times a year for the past decade. I saw an Ioniq 5 N for the first time early this year in Tokyo. It was the very first time I saw a Hyundai anywhere in Japan. It must be that good of a car if it's being sold in the country.

I agree with you man, a lot of car makers are changing their strategy when comes to making vehicles that are more driver focused and exciting, it's hard not to sound like a grumpy old man banging on about "back in the day", but hey guess we should enjoy ourselves while we can and still drive and modify our combustion engines! All the best man 🤘

I'm a detailer for Nissan and agree that they've lost their way. Most Nissans in the U.S. are very disposable. 3-year-old trade-ins come in with cesspool interiors and scraped bumpers. We have a white 2024 Nismo Z in the showroom with a $10,000 markup. I like a lot of the design details on the new Z, but I don't see an advantage over getting a used Nismo Z34.

They have to fix their current situation and get back to making cars that people actually want

A little late to the party here and I love what you do Dino. Glad to see you warming up to the R33. I love mine and it's definitely worthy of the GTR lineage. You also hit the nail on the head with the Nissan line up and quite frankly the BS EV crap. It's not ready and we can all see it. As you said, someone motorsports derived need to be hired and or brought up to be in charge.

Interesting how the store, despite being focused in automotive products, is not all about cars, it has space to reach out to a wider public. Curious that some sections have tax-free banners, like one would find at an airport.

The last two times I visited there, I saw the PORSCHE 911GT3RS and Fairlady Z on display and was able to take a video. I also visited when there was an 86/BRZ event, and I like the carbon parts I bought at the RSW booth at that time.

"unfortunately these magazines get thinner and thinner" A profound moment that isn't just Japanese. We are entering a historically significant era where the mass mobility solution product diverges from the Specialist Niche product, what was once called "Sports Cars". The real ones are mostly ultracars made for the rich, but in time they will trickle down and these offshoot brands from the big manufacturers as well as newcomers like Kimera, Nilu, etc will find a healthy market for true experience sports cars under 6 digits USD when we run through this crazy used car market. Maybe then those magazines will actually have more to publish about...
@OnlyDinoDC8 күн бұрын
Magazines are a tough form of media to be running, but there will always be a space for them especially if they find a way to reinvent themselves into formats that people think are of value, i.e. quality productions
