I hope you are aware that not all bearings are created equal. The Chinese made bearings that are super cheap are made with severely inferior materials. They look like decent parts but they simply do not hold up. The metals they are made from and the heat treatment they receive to temper the metals properly is severely inferior to a factory oem bearing from Japan. Basically you are really asking for it when you buy cheap bearings.

I am painfully aware of this from working on cars, even the ones that come from Detroit axel nowadays are junk…, I try and use stock when possible but sometimes you have to go outside the box and find the best alternative. Thank you

Why don't you order all your bearings & seals from a bearing supplier? Kawasaki doesn't make bearings, they source them from bearing manufacturers. I've never come across a bearing I couldn't source from a bearing supplier.
@BrokeMX
@BrokeMX 20 күн бұрын
I agree, some of them can be a little difficult if you don’t have a number and you’re going off of dimensions. Just trying to keep it simple on the video so people that don’t know can see that there are other options. Thank you

@@BrokeMX I still remember bank in the day when ktm came out with pds rear suspension, the lower shock mount used a teflon or something like that heim joint. KTM dealerships charged a stupid amount of money for them and everybody said they're not available from anybody but ktm. I sourced them back to INA Bearings. I ended up selling them at half the ktm price and also offered a brass version people could grease via a nipple.

It’s a mock up, cases are empty. Why would that pipe be special for this build? It may not be obvious unless you have tried to find this item for an early 90’s KX before. It’s made of “Unobtainium”. Meaning no one can find them or they are extremely rare

for $500 though not bad honestly, I would check the vin as 1991 I didn't think the rear end lifted up like that? Thought it was solid frame up until mid 90's? Cleaning it up and parting it out would yield more than $500 so I think it was worth 500 imo (I think I have 500 cash sitting in my wallet I never use lol)
@BrokeMX

Definitely a 91 I did check and matched the engine # they had sub after 89 I think, and definitely worth the 500. In the end it will be sweet and a good way to show how to come up with unobtainium parts

It will definitely be needing a complete teardown rebuild the shocks probably even the rims.
