Brought home this 91 kx250 for only $500, how bad could it be? REALLY BAD..., this is only the beginning. Can we save it? Follow along as we try and restore a neglected classic motocross bike(The worst bike I've ever seen.)

These are the best builds.... Takes balls to restore the rusty bikes people don't want. I'm doing a 89 yz250 engine looks same as yours. Soak it up WD-40 and trans fluid and diesel mix. God bless mate from Australia 🦘🦘

Thank you sir, I have not tried that mix yet

I just rebuilt one of these, looked about the same as yours when I got it. Been a process but she’s almost done.

Wow that is rough. It's going to be a rusty mess inside. How can people let these things get so bad?

This guy should have more subscribers. You can tell he knows he’s way around a dirtbike. Love the pov camera shot. Looking forward to seeing more on this bike

When i saw the bike my first thought was scrap that, then you mentioned the nostalgia part, lets get it done, i rebuilt a 94 from top to bottom. Can’t wait to see what route you take on certain thing🤘

It should probably be scrap, but let’s save something nobody wants and give it a new life

I think the handle bars might be the only thing not replaced or rebuilt as long as you don’t count the clutch, brake or kill switch and bar pad lol

for $500 though not bad honestly, I would check the vin as 1991 I didn't think the rear end lifted up like that? Thought it was solid frame up until mid 90's? Cleaning it up and parting it out would yield more than $500 so I think it was worth 500 imo (I think I have 500 cash sitting in my wallet I never use lol)

Definitely a 91 I did check and matched the engine # they had sub after 89 I think, and definitely worth the 500. In the end it will be sweet and a good way to show how to come up with unobtainium parts

It will definitely be needing a complete teardown rebuild the shocks probably even the rims. They might not be bad though that engines need a lot of work though all new bearings, including the crank everything is there though and really that’s what matters is if mostly everything is there and that what really matters is the sentimental value, brother

$500 and a second engine it's not a price for how old the bike is it still has paint were its usually rubbed off original bolts aren't rusty
@BrokeMX14 күн бұрын
It seems like the original owner took pretty good care of it and the guy I got it from bought it as a project, what happened between is a mystery.
