HHC in itself will not fail a GCMS, LC-MS/MS confirmation drug test. HHC does not break down in the same way D9 THC does. These highly sensitive tests are designed to separate cannabinoids in human donor samples. Yes that includes separating D9 and D8. All SAMHSA approved labs have the accurate reference standards to identify and quantify individual cannabinoids no matter how close their molecular structure is related. Most drug tests like your at home tests and standard immunoassay tests are NOT designed to accurately give a true negative result when consuming HHC or D8 due to high cross reactivity. So if you fail a standard test always demand a confirmation at a lab. If you failed your confirmation it is likely whatever product you were consuming was contaminated with real D9 THC, THCA or whoever ordered the test specifically requested an HHC, D8 search. Most regulated drug tests like DOT only count THC-COOH(D9-THC) above 15NG/ML cutoff a true positive result in confirmation screening.
