Hey guys I thought yellow moorings are private and pink for free mooring to the public ? Only asking as I love camping on my boat yet find it hard to find mooring places , I fish in the hawksberry and harbour
@JTx8045 күн бұрын
not sure if you’ve left yet mate, but a 270 awning from kings would be well worth the money and extra weight i reckon, particularly as the cape can get some pretty crucial rain.
@butlerboyadventuresbba40904 күн бұрын
@@JTx804 a 270 awning would be the perfect set up. I’m just on my roof weight limit now so decided against it. On the trip now and definitely need something for rain/sun. I have a gazebo with me which works well, no where near as convenient as a 270 though 👍

to save money/material as well as make the canopy easier to put on, pull off, instead of the whole meter of velcro being used in one strip, 3 or four 10cm strips along that length would be sufficient. Here is a link to mine i made up, note that the sides do have a gap and don't stretch over the sides, however water ingress isn't an issue due to the wide gunnels channelling it away. I can attest to this as i was overnighting onboard and it bucketed down cats and dogs in the early hours . cheers, looking good. kzbin.infobnojva7KdCM?si=lrIZHXWpBIwQqt3c Btw, I have since added a flap at the rear. the tent is made up of 4 separate pieces, allowing for each to be rolled up for travelling during the day and takes next to no time to put up or down.

The only thing you didn’t - or haven’t mentioned you have which I believe is essential for traveling is roadside assistance. Top level. Worth its weight in gold. Also hide a spare key on the Prado somewhere, just incase.

Went out over Easter on my fish about . The noises of the waves hitting the hull kept me awake all night . What was it like for you? And FYI. I put my swag done no need for a boat tent and no Mozzie bits

Hi mate, you can hear the water but I quite like it. Swag is a good idea if you have the room. For a solo trip i might throw mine in. How did you go though, enjoy it?

@@butlerboyadventuresbba4090 Need to work on it. I have a double swag that fit perfectly in the Quintrex 430 fish about. I. Don’t have the table you have. The wave noise was something I didn’t expect. I either have to suck in up, or run up on a beach. Love boat camping though

How have you found the rhino rack platform? Does it make much noise when you get up to 100km/hr? Also I'm pretty sure your prado roof is rated to carry 100kg, so you might have to check what your total roof weight is with roof rack, roof tent, awning, solar panel etc to make sure you don't exceed your 100kg limit.
@butlerboyadventuresbba40903 ай бұрын
Platform doesn’t make much noise and I like it for holding swags etc. Prado is 100kg and I will remove the platform before fitting the rooftop because of the weight. A lot of people don’t realise that most vehicles don’t have a high roof load capacity. I will pretty much be on the limit with the tent and solar panel. Not sure what I’ll do with Maxtrax yet because I’ll likely be over 100kg with those.

If your reel is making that noise when you're winding it in, it means you need to tighten your drag a bit! If you hook a good fish, you need to set the hook by pulling the rod up, but with loose drag it wont work. Great work of the little jew! Persistence pays off :)
@butlerboyadventuresbba40905 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice. Definitely no fishing experts here, all self taught so any feedback is greatly appreciated 😁
@derickblyth97225 ай бұрын
You need to undo the nut on the right hand side which will disconnect the steering cable from the engine. You will most likely find the rod will move in and out without a problem and the problem is in the cable. Every min just spent was a waste of time.

Nice vid mate. Do you know if the 310 Dart is light enough to chuck on a ute/roof racks?
@butlerboyadventuresbba40906 ай бұрын
I suppose it depends on the roof capacity of the car and the roof racks. Put it this way, I’ve seen much bigger tinnys on the top of utes. Maybe a struggle lifting it up there though

I love boat camping! You are motivating me to get another boat. I had to sell mine during the pandemic to make ends meet. I strongly suggest only mooring or anchoring from the bow of your boat. If strong winds or current whip up you can easily be capsized due to poor hydrodynamics when stern tied. I witnessed this happen to another vessel. It happens quick. You have the perfect boat. I certainly wouldn’t want to pay the dock fees or fuel bills of those big yachts… Thanks for the video!
