to save money/material as well as make the canopy easier to put on, pull off, instead of the whole meter of velcro being used in one strip, 3 or four 10cm strips along that length would be sufficient. Here is a link to mine i made up, note that the sides do have a gap and don't stretch over the sides, however water ingress isn't an issue due to the wide gunnels channelling it away.
