So, there are a few mistakes that I didn't catch before (this is why double checking and not going off of memory is important): 1. The art for Strange Adventures was done by both Mitch Gerards and Evan 'Doc' Shaner, the latter of whom I forgot to mention. This is important as the two artists styles present different periods in Adam Strange's life - Gerards does the art for the present day, while Doc depicts the scenes taking place during the war between Rann and the Pykkts. 2. In Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, only Ruthye's dad is killed by Krem, the rest of her family including her mother and brothers are still around. I misremembered the scene of her alone on her farm at the end of the series as her entire family having died at the hands of Krem (oops!)

Honestly it's not too bad of a proposal, but I don't know how much story he could get out of it. It seemed like Alex Ross just wanted his ideal universe to play in for a bit, which is fine, but is there really a market for that? I guess DC might have felt the same way. It's interesting but what's the point? What's the story? It's just interesting ideas. In modern times, I think they'd print it because... they'll print anything now, but back then they a bit more standards. Since then we've seen a few good (and better versions) of DC's future, but one more relevant to this would be Batman Beyond. It's basically the same idea, but don't more creatively. The reason that works and this doesn't is because that series wasn't a "what if". It was treated as a normal story. There was fan service for sure, but that's not all it was.
@COMICSAREAWESOME
@COMICSAREAWESOME Ай бұрын
That's what I feel as well. The story would've been a playground for Alex Ross in the same way creators in the 70s and 80s had their own earth to play around with when writing for DC. It's why the proposal was only for 2-3 issues, but I still don't know if there was enough material for it.

It’s not that the Dark Ages is the weakest storyline, it’s that it has the least of what most people love about Astro City. The Silver Age aesthetic, the hope that is woven into the series, the feeling that the stories are most bound to the age they were written in.

Why? Because Alan Moore's masterpiece needs to continue and be exposed a new generation of people to this fabulous tale. The animation is amazing. The voice acting is not 'fine' its stellar and the adaption is amazingly faithful to the comics. I was very pleased with many of the choices here. The Black Freighter inclusion was amazing in the way the kept the original comic... inside the move. I'm sorry, but you sound like you're griping because that what you feel you should do. I was actually quite impressed with this. Hands down the best DC animated movie in years. The animation is great, i like the voice acting, and it proved to be better than the Zack Snyder movie because it wasnt too caught up in being ultra stylized and actually managed to be faithful to the comic while compressing it enough but not so much to where it feels rushed, AND ITS SIMULTANEOUSLY INCLUDING THE BLACK FREIGHTER??? All in less than 90 minutes. All something I did not know was possible. Very excited for part 2. As for the “why” u gotta understand not everybody reads comics and thats okay its not a form for everyone (reading ITSELF isnt for everyone) so this definitely a good way of exposing non comic readers to the Watchmen story (and a FAITHFUL one at that cuz as much as i like The Snyder movie it works entirely as a movie and not an as much for an adaptation)

For me, this was necessary. Let's be honest, superheroes today are suffering from saturation, so it was necessary for Watchmen to return to give us a light breath of fresh air and remind us why this story is and it is still is one of the best graphic novels that have been written and put on paper, the graphic novel that deconstructed the superhero genre. I already wanted to see an actual good superhero movie and not watch trash filler movies again (MCU & DCU).

Stacy X? Love her. Heard about her as one of those “top 10 characters you didn’t know were on the Xmen” deals. Then the Cerebro podcast dedicated episode 69 to her. I do agree on the sentiment that, whilst attitudes towards her profession were not great when she debuted, the comics, unless certain writers were on them, were rather progressive with her. When they eventually had Chuck Austin on for episode 99 on Nurse Annie, he admitted that getting rid of her was an editorial decision because she was an overtly sexual character as opposed to the rest of the Xmen soap opera that is most internally sexual. And yeah, he found it stupid that Sinister could be depicted as the Josef Mengele of Marvel but we couldn’t have Stacy. I do like that her name is basically a rearranged of Ecstasy. One of my favourite stories was when she was called to help the CEO of some chef boyardi knockoff because his mutant powers are killing him and he’s immune to painkillers so she puts him in a medically induced coma so he spends the last month of his life in bliss. And then the rest of the team commend her for helping out a fellow mutant in need. Sweet stuff.

_"I also like how some like Batman have it becouse if they pass the line they would become just what they are stopping and they know it."_ I never liked the Under The Red Hood reasoning, that if Bruce Wayne ever kills he's forever gone over to the dark side. For Batman (and other heroes in his same situation) it makes more logical sense to me that the mission isn't for him to save Gotham City, it is for him to help people like Jim Gordon save Gotham City hence killing people (rather than hand them over to Gordon) and being hunted by people like Gordon for killing people would be counterproductive to the mission. _"Here is one for your though why are the Jury's not going for the Death Pentily on them. It's very simple actually. Avoiding killing when feasible is good but a code of "never killing ever" is delusional. Imagine Darkseid has a Kryptonite bomb that will tear the Earth in half at the touch of a button giving Superman the choice of either killing Darkseid at superspeed or doing nothing and he just waits thinking "I have faith a third option will present itself... aaany second now." It's a juvenile power fantasy that the universe is so nice and the hero is so capable that there is basically no danger, a nice third option will either come to the hero or when he chooses to do nothing it will turn out they ultimately made the right call (e.g. the villain was bluffing or decides it would be unsporting to do the evil deed since the the hero technically spared their life).
