About to do this. In your opinion is it worth it over cheaper options from USA knife maker?

What if my ad10m when the blade closes it sounds like the blade is hitting metal ? I don’t think it is but it sounds like it

Sweet thanks! Did you put that S through some harder use and ran into a problem or any side to side play?

I juts put some textured ti AD20S scales on an AD20 and did not use a second washer. Everything went together fine and the knife feels great. Will I develop problems without that second washer per side?

If you didn't experience any trouble, I'd say it sounds good. Hopefully I can say the same for myself in the near future.

Such a hard knife to flick because of the lack of detent. Definently takes some getting used to. I think it's easier to just open it with the shark lock tbh.

Cool knife, but to my brothers...: PLEASE STOP OVER PAYING FOR THESE GIMMICK KNIVES!!! YOUR ENABLING THESE COMPANIES TO BASICALLY ROB YOU, AND IT STUNTS THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY! Do as you wish of course JMO.

Excuse me? What do you mean? Criticisms which don’t specify the specific issue you are addressing are worthless! Exactly how are these knives gimmicky?
@yankee2yankee2162 жыл бұрын
How is this a gimmick knife? You must mean it is INNOVATIVE… Mustn’t have that! Sorry, but I disagree (I just bought a similar, related knife, which I LIKE).

Why would you describe this knife as “cool,” then turn around refer to is as a “gimmick knife.” Huh?

I got titanium stand offs and CF scales for mine. I lost a couple body screws, I had to wait to get new ones in the mail. Then when I finally got it already to put back together, the damn spring popped out and I lost that. So, I had to order a new one. It took almost two weeks to get that damn thing back together because I had to keep reordering parts. It's kind of funny now that I look back on it. those timascus scales look killer!

All I could think about for the last half of the video is that he went in raw with the bearings and added absolutely no lubrication.

Ok good! So the newer pivot won’t effect the bearings & you can still use the 6mm skiffs. Was curious about that

@@vlab2000 Oh sorry, I meant in a really good way. Like so amazing it is absurd. I know it doesn't make sense but native English speakers do that often. Not sure what the word is for it but yeah it's blatant misuse of words lol.

How do these scales feel in hand? Do you find it to be a useful upgrade or merely an aesthetic improvement? I purchased the Black g10 scales and am very interested in also grabbing these.
@turdferguson28742 жыл бұрын
I put some on mine along with the same titanium back spacers and I replaced the bearings with skiff bearings. The carbon fiber definitely adds rigidity as it doesn't flex under pressure as easily as the FRN does. Biggest issue is the slickness of the scales. I still love them as they are also incredibly light. Some people will find issue with the carbon fiber not having any texturing which probably would have been a welcome addition. The knife is still ridiculously thin for how thick the blade stock is. I'd say they're a worth while upgrade but maybe look at some 3rd party scales that cost a bit more but can get you titanium, aluminum, fat carbon, and a some sites even have micarta
@DeRock4012 жыл бұрын
Even though this one has a larger pivot it still takes the same size skiffs as the standard ad20.5? Did it make a difference? Knives like this I don’t really think it’s worth it cuz the blade is free falling once you engage the shark lock
@vlab20002 жыл бұрын
I like them. I’m not sure how much of a difference they make.
@JJ-lu6mg2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s a big difference IMO, the ones that come with the knife are basically junk. I can feel the bearings when opening and closing knife with the original ones. The skiffs make it smoother and more solid just improving both the action and strength of it.
