@@daryledean Did you not know that there was a stop sale for those vehicles for months ? Surprised that they are actually on sale again now. And Honda (Prologue) has it's own version, and surely Honda wishes they'd never decided to join forces as they were not ready on their own. Hopefully SOME of the issues have been ironed out by now. See CRs Talking Cars episode #436 (not a short), in which they say "not fully baked" and issues with the Cadillac Lyriq as well.

Make sure your next vehicle has a J as the first digit of it's Vehicle Identification Number, which denotes made in Japan....where there is the absolute best quality control of anywhere in the world, even beats German for quality. Made in USA, Canada, and Mexico just do not compare.

We bought a new Leaf in 2017 and the range and performance were awful. Just bought a used 2021 Bolt and absolutely love it. Fun to drive and the range is great.

I have heard so many people complain about the Leaf. I have friends that went from a Leaf to a Bolt, and they have no regrets. The Bolt gets great range. At the 6 year point my Bolt was getting better range than the day I bought it.

I love mine! It performed like a champ over five states and 2400 miles. GM's partnership with Pilot/Flying J was genius. It's likely by next Summer I can charge exclusively at those locations.

Just for curiosity , what did you mean that the Lyriq doesn’t qualify for all the credits? I thought it qualified for the $7500 tax credit.

When I filmed this (which was April 19), The dealership had told me that they had over 20 Lyrics sitting on the lot unsold, because they didnt qualify for the incentives. (as they were over $70k) Maybe they qualified for some? But since then, many dealers have dropped the price to $69k so that people will buy them. (I was told this at the dealer, just passing it on. This is a BC Canada incentive I talking about, all provinces are different. No matter what, I didnt think the Lyric was the right car as it was $11k more.

I think you are right. Theres a huge divide on what politician is the best, and a huge divide on electric cars. And its probably correct to say, the sides match. I will dive a bit into this in upcoming videos, but unlike voting for a leader, in my case I just wanted to not buy gas any more.....its that simple. Nothing against anyone that wants to buy gas. To each his own.

Perfect car for the suburbs. Zero gas consumption, clean emissions, almost zero maintenance. Plenty of room for trips to Costco. Good range. Most fossil fuel SUVs can barely make 300 miles on a full $200 tank of gas. Glad Chevy is stepping up. Hope dealers don’t gouge people. Have had an EV for 4 years, zero problems, no gas! Also have a 7 year old Toyota Hybrid.

Right on! You got the right trim as well. The RS has larger rims which lowers your range AND affects ride comfort in a negative way! The 2LT is the best trim

Just traded our 2020 Bolt same color as yours and bought a Blazer RS AWD! Love it as the Bolt was just to small and we felt unsafe on freeways! My wife loves the dual zone A/C as I am always hot and she is always cold so she uses heated seat and I use cooled seat! 2 people testing the Blazer found 315-320 miles range! Also you can choose to not need seat belt to drive! I have a Hemi Ram as my truck but rarely use it as I am to cheap to buy gas! My 1st EV was a 2013 Ford Focus EV which I love but way to primitive! Every EV has been the best car I have owned and like you I plan to keep this one forever! Also love the adaptive cruise control!

I just googled CCS, and I still can't find out what it is.....but I can tell you, I drove my Bolt for 6 years, 80k KM driving where I need to go and passing gas stations. Now I drive this Blazer, and drive it everywhere I need to go. Yes, local stuff, nothing further than an hour away usually. Like I said in my video, I have a truck that is incredible on fuel, and I use it for long trips as it gets 1200KM per tank. Hope that helps answer your question.

What I see is that CCS is different and better than Tesla so with a NACS to CCS adapter it will be fine! My Blazer charges plenty fast 10 min for 78 miles is more than we need! If you are racing from Maine to California just stay with gas and burn $100 bills as you drive! We like to stop and enjoy trips!

Im not worried. I was a firefighter for 31 years, and I have no concern of my Blazer catching on fire. (any more than any other car I owned.) I have been to hundreds of cars fires....all cars catch on fire.

Because the car was under $70k (actually the car was $61k) ...I got $5000 (Canada ev rebate), $1000 British Columbia rebate ( max $4000 based on income), $750 from Costco, and the car dropped in price $6000 after I ordered it. So, I got $6750 in rebates, and $6000 additionally lowerred.

Correct. When I captured the video I had only had the car 2 days. Online they only have "LT" listed, so I think theres only LT, RS and SS models. (LT being the least expensive)

It's now an electric draw on top of the high electric rates, A battery that costs huge to replace any ware from 20 to 40 k, Insurance rates higher , still needing OIL to build it not to mention the scared earth to get the lithium , Electric range stress on trips. Not the answer. IF we can reuse old nuclear and have a driving car with fuel to last 50 years that would be a great answer . That also has drawbacks

The advantage over a Tesla to me is all of the luxury items you can get and also the more standard controls, knobs, buttons, switches etc. A sunroof that opens, an instrument cluster and I like the normal door handles. A model Y has a lot of advantages too. Just a matter of preference.

You may be willing to put up with this early adopter stuff, but most people don't have time for it. Tesla is the best option for those folks. Good luck with the new ride.

@@harrychu650 GM product line is way better than Tesla. The only thing Tesla has that's better is their charging infrastructure. I also just purchased a Blazer RS EV and no issues. The interior runs circles around tesla. No body panel issues, rattles or wind noise. Hopefully tesla opens the chargers for GM. Then I would feel more comfortable traveling long distances. The best thing to get is to have a level 2 charger at home and your good to go.

@@daryledean The fact of the matter is Tesla produce is mature while the Detroit Three and the rest of the legacy autos are not. The ID4s are well known to have crippling software glitches and did you know the Mach-e had devastating flaws like the charging port popping open while driving which rendered the car undrivable? The Hyundai's had a charging issue that would make the car charge super slow due to faulty controllers. The list goes on and I suspect your blazer will have issues. Most owners just want a car that does what it is meant to rather than a project.

What did they give on the trade in on the Bolt and how many miles did you have on it at trade in?

It was a Bolt Premier, it also had a full size spare tire and fairly new front brakes. It had 81,000km (50,000mi) and we got $20,400 cdn (which is $15,000 usd) , the trade in saving us taxes got us almost $23,000 usd towards the Blazer)

Did I hear you right? apx 2:30 mark, it sounds like your saying you got the new GM recall battery replaced in 2023, (so how long exactly did you have to wait from the time you put in the request?)

I actually never put in a request. It was a recall. So they told all of us to stand by, and about 8 months later we got new batteries. Also, take note, I didn't need new batteries, mine were fine, but all Bolts were recalled to get new batteries.And the new batteries gave us better range. (original batt roughly 500km, new ones almost 600km.)

@@daryledean Hi thanks for responding so quickly, I don't own a BOLT yet, I'm waiting until next year to get one, but as I research and learn more about the Bolt from youtube and Bolt owners on KZbin, it's fascinating, to see examples of people getting well beyond the manufacturer's own specs on range estimates, which maxed out at 259, and you got well beyond that in this video, at least once or twice I suspect. But can you tell me how much you pay for OnStar service in order to get the remote start function to work? (that is if you have it) P.S. (did your replaced battery get you a 62 KW or 65 WK size battery?)

I've got an old LEAF, a 2012 and I love it! However there is the very limited range. 95% of my driving is only 10 miles away (16 km) and I have my old Jeep if I have to go farther. STILL, I am considering buying a Bolt. Probably something around 2020. Would you still suggest it?

Any EV that works and gets you around is great to have. I have had lots of friends buy and sell the Leaf V1 as their range got worse and worse. But, if yours gets you around, its all good. And yes, the Bolt is a great all around car. If and when our Blazer comes in, if I dont like the deal, Im keeping my Bolt. I love our Bolt.

Hoping to pick up a pre-owned Bolt this summer. Need to replace my daily driver and I have heard over and over that these make great commuter vehicles. We may not have flying cars yet, but I look forward to the day when I can plug my car in the same way that charge my phone each night!
