This is just another trash cringe cover of little wing. I don't buy it. The emotion is faked. The insincerity bleeds through the entire song. No amount of talent can make up for a lack of authenticity.

hehe Uli out-whammied Steve! ahah Steve has his sustainer pickup but Uli took it to new heights or shall I say pitches? Uli's note choices followed the chords nicely and so did Morse's. Steve just noodled around in E minor the whole time.
@TruthSurge2 жыл бұрын
3:21 to 3:23 as great as Vai is, he royally screwed up there and his entire solo didn't follow the chords. He just played as if he was over E minor the entire time. I'm actually shocked because great players know how to accent the notes of the chords while they are happening. oh well... Vai never did have any handle on playing blues. He was honestly too white. no soul. I say this and I love most of his stuff but it's true. He can't play legit blues to save his life.

After hearing Steve Morse here, it's hard to believe that he almost subbed for Al Di Meola in the acoustic guitar trio with McLaughlin and Paco. So yes, I was expecting more from Steve Morse, especially in terms of speed and alternate-picking. Maybe he was holding back because it was Steve Vai's gig. That sure didn't stop Malmsteen from running rings around Vai and Satriani at G3.
@e_david2 жыл бұрын
I think that time he was really struggling with the arthritis in his right hand. He had to change the way of picking because of the pain. Maybe that's why he didn't play fast and use alternate-picking
@josephblow59462 жыл бұрын
@@e_david So he had arthritis? That will definitely put a damper on your overall skills. McLaughlin had arthritis as well. Maybe that's why he hired Jimmy Herring a year or so ago to take some of the solos.
@e_david2 жыл бұрын
@@josephblow5946 yeah, that's why Steve is wearing a wristband on his right hand. He said in an interview,that he had to learn again how to pick, because he couldn't use his uniqe picking technic.

I thought Steve Via sounded the most like Jimi. Steve Morse had the drawn out sustain sound. Roth was good too. But even though this is a Jimi Hendrix song, I don't consider it a hard rock tune. It is more of a tasteful guitar playing song, nice and mellow so you can listen closely. It isn't Purple Haze or Foxy Lady.
