I have both those tires, but haven't had a chance to run the Prolines that much yet. I have used the "Fusk" on the same rig as I have used some Predator TSL SX, and the Fusks do really well. Not quite predator well, but far better than the low price would make you think. I run all my tires with inserts I design and print myself, so the Fusks have dual stage 3D printed designed to fit and work perfectly. For the money, the Mix Racin "Tusk" tires are really nice in my experience. Apparently other Mix Racing tires are quite a lot worse though, which is a bit strange, but something about the Tusk design and the compound used in just those tires seem to do the trick.

@@Br0rB totally agree mate. I’ve now got 2 sets as well as the original Tusks. They’re 95% as good at 25% the price. These are definitely the only cheap tyres I will buy again. Other tyre clones have left me really disappointed. I did think about getting some fake Trenchers but I’ve been burned too many times!

@@ValleyCrawlers I have two sets as well, one still in the bag, as it looked like they were going away a little while ago, so had to make sure I had some spares. Turns out they were soon back in stock. ;-) I pay roughly 25USD for a set, with VAT for the Mix Racing, and a set of Tusks will set me back roughly a 100 USD here, so yeah, same deal, 25% of the price. Pretty good deal, that. The fake Trenchers are apparently awful, like truly awful. I have found the Injora 1.9 tires in S4 and S5 to be really quite nice as well. I run a lot of 1.0" and 1.3" Injora S5 tires, and they work great, and I have some of their 1.9" S4 and S5 tires as well, and they do the thing. I also have some RC4WD X2SS and some different Proline G8 and Predator tires, but they are so expensive here, that I'd rather just get Injora ones or the fake Tusks for some rigs.

While I don't have this one, I have a few Hobby Plus rigs, and a whole heap of other small scale rigs. I reckon this would do a lot better with the brass bits mounted, and some decent tires. For a cheap, but really good, option for tires, I really like the 1.0" and 1.3" Injora S5 tires. I have a whole heap of those. Then some nice beadlocks with brass rings in the front. If needed, I have inserts for several different small scale tires, and more coming. I run the 1.0" 60mm Injora XHX pins on my comp rig, an "scx24" that isn't really an SCX24 anymore, as well as some 1.3" Injora XHX pins, and their clingons and a bunch of their other tires. They do really, really well, and even better when I design and print some inserts for them. This already being brushless, all it really needs, other than the brass, wheels and tires, is a decent servo. I've been using a PTK 9g servo that's good for 13kg of torque in my comp rig, and it's really nice. Best thing, it's like 20 US Dollars on Aliexpress. :D

Those fender covers, or whatever, look horrible. It would look heaps better without those. While a bit over the top, I reckon that's a pretty decent body mounting system, and it's nice they have the whole bottom pretty much covered up. Looks a bit more scale, I guess, not seeing up under the body and all that. Cool that it comes with a winch, too. It's just that body with all that junk on, can't get past that. I reckon this would be more of a scale truck, than a crawler, just too bad they made the hardbody look so bad. ;) Your point about kids loving this, I see that. My kids, while not super into crawlers, they do enjoy going out with me to do some crawling every now and then. They're eight and 11, and they would have liked this far better than I would (me gettint close to that 50 mark as well). They think my scale hardbody rigs with lights and scale accessories are way cooler than my more "compy" crawlers. I have a Jeep body kinda like that one, the Injora one. So same, just without all the crap on it. My kids prefer that one on a 10.2 chassis to my lcg style builds with cut up lexan bodies.
