One of the most beautiful songs of the 1990s. The whole 'Soup' album was magnificient, still listen to it a few dozen times a year all these years later.

My heart breaks for this man. He was never happy inside and consumed himself in addiction and pain from being only majorly known for a song he didn’t even like no rain. He had a totally different sound and band style but it became his success and it was all people truly seemed to want to see and he had escape from the success story it made him as quickly as it did He deserved to be happy inside. It’s sad that he’s gone The world is so fucking empty today and I think he knew he was able to resonate with Kurt and probably knew his life was heading the same way. He knew exactly what the fame did to him and the prison the insustry creates in the heads of artists once they go mainstream

It really is the case that each generation has a certain artist, or genre, that just digs in and makes a home inside that generation. My parents’ generation was of course that of The Beatles, Stones, Dylan, then into the 70s with Floyd, CSN, Kiss, etc…. I didn’t roll my eyes too much when they would go on and on about how incredible the music was, because I happened to be an early discoverer of a love of rock music. But not until months, maybe years, after Kurt passed did I realize how all of my favorite bands of that genre meant so much to me. The immediate loss was rough, but the slipping away of that musical movement felt like the end of something great. Because I was older when Layne passed, and because it was unfortunately not a shock to hear the news, it felt different. No less terrible, just different. But today, having children of my own, I find myself going on and on about how Nevermind changed music at the time, how Dirt was the grittiest album I knew back then, how Pearl Jam came to be born from the loss of the incredible Andrew Wood. I’m thankful for that music and grateful for the artists who gave us the gifts of their creativity and for the sharing of their struggles. I hope that my children have profound music to look back on in fondness when they’re grown. I don’t know what it would be, but neither did my parents. Somehow, it will happen for them like it did for us and our parents before us. It’s a pretty incredible thing.

Hey, that's great, he really felt that. And then he booted the person there to help him and he OD'ed. Just another person who chose to scratch their itches in selfishness.

I'm late to the party, but I appreciated Kurt Cobain very much. I mourn to this day his avoidable passing. I connected with his music. I did not know of Shannon until many years later. I appreciate Shannon's music, thoughts, views these many years later.

I read that Shannon and Kurt were closest friends. If this is true then seeing this just breaks me. Here he looked like he lost a brother with a beautiful family. I even saw Mark Lanegan sitting outside Kurt's home during that day too. Really sad, sad day.

Anyone who does even 20min of research reading about Cobains death will discover that he did not kill himself, he was brutally murdered. He had so much heroin in his system that he went into respiratory arrest before he could even pull the trigger for a gun. Heroine make your breathing stop and you Overdose, you are not able to operate a firearm when you OD on heroin. In addition to that major caveat, there are other indications at the crime scene and in his life leading up to his death. A man even confessed that Cobains wife had tried to pay him to kill Cobain and that guy was killed on a on a train tack. RIP Hoon and Cobain.

Shannon didn’t realize that Courtney Love had her husband Kurt Cobain over killed . He had so much heroin in his system that he wouldn’t of been able to talk. Let alone pick up a shot gun and hold it in a certain impossible way, That It would be impossible for him to have done any of that to himself. he would of went into massive convulsions instantly , kurt didn’t shoot the needle or the Gun! He would have been convolting until his death in 2 minutes after. How does a corpse place all the heroin and his spoon and the needle completely wiped clean and put back neatly into the cigar box he kept his drug paraphernalia in. How does a man without a face put all his contra-ban back in its box, but first wiping it clean .. ??? Explain that one to me , I never bought the idea of him shooting himself. I wasn’t a big nirvana fan either . I like the foo fighters better. Kurt did not kill himself . Who is the one(s) that gained the most , out of his death. ? That could been a few different people . Yet they like and called it suicide. After injecting a fatal dose of heroin, I to his arm. He had enough heroin in his system to have killed 7 men . Then wipes it clean . He wipes the gun clean too , it had no fingerprints on it . And I bet they didn’t swab his hands for gun power residue . They did none of that .
