Really great video with beautiful footage. Nice job. Loved Paros and brought back memories of Athens the city, Parthenon and Acropolis. Lots of tourists when we were there as well and oh so hot. 😘

Greetings. Hope you have an awesome and safe trip. I’ve learned a lot from your channel, particularly about the Bahamas. Almost make me wish i had my boat on the east coast instead of the PNW. One of my life goals is to either ship our boat to the Mediterranean or rent one for a few months, visit Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey. Thank you for letting us view your adventures. I’m surprised your channel isn’t bigger

Good to know. Hadn't heard that. Do you live on island?
@larsvihlen21852 ай бұрын
Probably a bit late but I had the same hoseclamp come loose on the intercooler intake lines. The oil comes from the crankcase breather venting into the intake of the turbo so any oil coming out of the crankcase breather is burned by the engine. It will end up going through the intercooler prior to getting burned in the engine.

Pump Out? How were the Pump Out services in the Bahamas?

Thanks for taking us on your trip. Couldn't Island Time run on one engine instead of tow? Thanks
@cruisingonislandtime4 ай бұрын
Absolutely she could, however we were headed for a very tight marina and steerage at low speed and on one engine gets tricky. So, we decided to play it safe. Also, we subscribe to a year round towing service that offers unlimited towing.
@dougpilgrim4 ай бұрын
@@cruisingonislandtime Thanks, I have read that some PDQ cruisers alternate running single engines and get extraordinary ranges at 6.5 Knots.
@cruisingonislandtime4 ай бұрын
I have heard the same. I guess it's a balance between fuel savings and putting more engine hours on your boat.
@jamesranker62755 ай бұрын
The pattern that emerged is boating is expensive. And Newport particularly so. My wife and I did a trip from Long Island to Greenport to Newport to montauk and returned home to the tune of $1,580 in fuel alone. But that’s the cost of playing. It’s where I choose to spend my money. I don’t drive a nice car or have a pool or take crazy vacations to far away places But my boat and house are pretty nice.
@cruisingonislandtime5 ай бұрын
Very true. But at least there are ways to mitigate the expense like mooring or anchoring, and keeping a conservative cruising speed. Either way, cruising isn't cheap and gotchas seem to show up when you least expect them. Thankfully the enjoyment outweighs the cost. As far as vices go, there are far many worse..

There is an interesting history on Gin Su Mer. The development was started by Pierre Lamouroux, a Frenchman who made his fortune inventing and promoting the Ginsu Knife in the late 1970s and 1980s ... " it slices, it dices, it makes Julienne Fries" ... thus he named his development GinSuMer, or "knife of the sea".

@cruisingonislandtime8 ай бұрын
Thanks Tom. We definitely love the usefulness but are not very happy with the performance. The first one lasted 5 months and was replaced under warranty. This one lasted 7 months then one of the sides failed to cool and the compressor smelled like burning electronics. So, we are running just one side, in freezer mode. We'll do another warranty claim when we get back to the US. And, the phone app to control and monitor is flaky at best. Not great for the price point of the unit.
