Picked up Dervish's "Playing with Fire" CD years ago when I was in Ireland. I had asked the guy in the music shop if there was some Irish music a bit less commercialized than "The Chieftains" , and this was what he put in my hand. Now, before Chieftain fans get all fluffled, I do own a couple Chieftain discs, including the one that has the cool version of Behind Blue Eyes with Roger Daltry. : )

@@AllWordsAreDustthis exactly. while people should still absolutely be held accountable for their bad actions, it seems that people, mostly younger people (including me sometimes), can't really find a sufficient balance between appreciating somebody for their contributions in art & humor while also recognizing they're not the best human being. (which is understandable to an extent, i won't pretend that i suddenly woke up one day knowing exactly how to perceive people) plus, maybe the solution isn't always to separate the art from the artist. it's good to take a step back & realize that somebody being talented/skilled in some way does not mean they're the most divine perfect runner up to Jesus on all levels. they're _still_ an imperfect human who is completely predisposed to screw up really badly in one way or another. but unfortunately, that's just how celebrity culture works. it's been around forever & it's not going away anytime soon. unrelated to musicians, but in general, we as a species need to focus more on recovery than condemnation (take notes, US prison system!!) it's illogical to reduce an entire person down to their worst (or their best) actions only. humans are way too complicated to simply be labeled "Good" or "Evil". in an ideal world, there would be a balance between understanding that all people have flaws while also urging them to *_better themselves_* instead of letting them run around doing whatever without consequence. i really digressed but basically People Really Suck A Lot Of The Time & There Is No Definite Solution but It Might Be Better If We Can Acknowledge That.

I used to work in a bakery and we would get people calling in to place orders for cakes. One day, a very, very attractive voice called in. She described the cake she wanted for her son, and it was a bit flirty, and then she told me she'd be coming later to pick up the cake and asked if I'd be there when she showed up. I was and I'll just say she was undatable.
