My 2yr old Gwen is tall and spindly with not alot of side branches. How do it to grow lateral branches? By pinching all the top growth?
@831AVO16 күн бұрын
@@monkeykat1 correct pinch top the central leader and maybe a close 2nd or 3rd limb near the top to drive growth vigor downwards. I also recommend that you bend the central leader at a 45⁰ angle pointed upwards. Thanks for watching hope this helps

Green gold is such a slow grower for me. Everyone says it’s a poor producer in CA as well. It must need that high heat and humidity it can get in Hawaii. GEM on the other hand is amazing and my tree is only 1 year old in the ground from a sleeve and I already have about 30 fruit that held on and will most likely reach maturity with how well sized they are now.

I attempt to graft in cooler spring and fall although here in the Northern Central Coast I can probably get away with grafting in summer since we don't get a lot of heat.✌️🥑

@831AVOАй бұрын
Keep trying don't give up as you can see I came in with like 5 grafts of each variety only to have one of each survive its definitely tough.
