Love this, it is shifting our awareness into our goals and purpose. However social anxiety is trauma - there are many issues which CBT ignores deliberately: 1) ACE ACoA trauma from childhood is core of social anxiety. This means - our fears and anxieties are conditioned and programmed - and this will cause obsessions and compulsions in real world - so trauma needs our attention to heal 2) Due to unresolved trauma - being exposed to narcissistic abuse in childhood - our Self was never developed. So basically instead of knowing what is our purpose, what is our goal, how we contribute to community and what we like and dislike - we have fawning and people pleasing instead of being captain of our own ship. This means - this schizoid empty core will cause us to be externally focused on other people and their needs and their anger. Social anxiety is complex trauma issue - it is not a mere shyness. I discovered that allowing anger - just to feel it, helps with starting block of building our Self persona - and then when we build our self persona personality - we will know what is our purpose.

Thank you for sharing your insight. I really hope readers embody a sense of hope that you can manage social speaking trauma with awareness and attention. I had to develop this skill growing up as a person who stuttered significantly where talking was always a threat of being laughed at or questions about my intelligence. Reframing your perspective is not meant to suggest to wave off the underlying core of your social trauma. As said, trauma is a deep real struggle. Self Management strategies of going within (internally) to be clear on your speaking purpose and desired outcomes are available, in many cases, to override the externally focused threat. It requires awareness, practice, and courage to laser in on your speaking goal outcome. It takes muscle to silence the identity of your core trauma. I really appreciate your comment and the discussion about maintaining your purpose.

Is it counter productive if I watched this at 3x speed?

You bring up a good point. I also listen to some audio 3x speed. With more complex, unfamiliar information or something I might be tested on, I slow down the audio. Thanks for your comment.

Hello !It's totally random that i found your video, but i have a question!! I'm a Content Creator,i often Record/Stream(in my native language)but lately i have a problem that almost exactly the same with what you discussed here. . This problem got worse as my Community grows,i speak too fast. .mumble my words. .and i often deleted my videos because i feel its not good enough, and i also often see my previous content and thinks, "That's not good enough" "That reaction could be better" or "I stutter a lot and speak wayy to fast" And it drives me mad hahah Any advice on that??or is that have more to do with Psychology? It got to the point where i cant even start recording, because i seems out of breath after every intro because i speak too fast (If i Stream, the problem is not too apparent)

Thanks for sharing! Your vocal delivery is affected by the physiological experience of performance anxiety. It’s hard for speakers to see themselves as performers, but any speaker whose career success depends on powerful, confident speaking is absolutely performing. I recently began building my channel. As I said in my About Bio, I will absolutely answer your question and provide skills practice suggestions in another video within 7 days. I’ll tag you. I’m certain it will help other viewers too. Thank you for your contribution!

James, I am so happy you shared this. It is a powerful technique to strengthen the voice quality. Be sure to check out the deep abdominal breathing tutorial and counted breathing with vocalization. Breath support is crucial to strong sustained voicing especially while speaking under pressure.
