Today, most of the non boutique not handwired pickups are made by a few chinese companies. The most famous is Artec. As they make branded pickups for big companies, they got everything to make good ones on their own name, and that's what they do. For 25$ you can buy the same big brands pups. You might not have the same metal covers (not german nickel), but the wires, the magnets etc... are the same. If they can make good pickups for DiMarzio they can make the same ones with their brand. Well they will not claim for obvious reasons that they are the same, but sure they are extremely close for a fraction of the price

👍👍The clone pick ups are really better than they used to be a few years ago . There are still some crappy sounding ones out there , a little research will go a long way on deciding who to buy from

Thanks , It did not take them long to get it to me. Its been awhile but I think it was about 2 to 3 weeks, I had tracking on my shipment as well , which is a little more than their standard shipping. You may want to write them prior to your order and check stock. I see some folks have had issues with them on delays , but I have purchased a couple of guitars with no issues . Good luck

Great job on your build . I bought the 2 humbucker one with the tremelo. Absolutely awesome mahogany body to nice to paint. I did a little bit of neck/fret work and put a hand rubbed gun oil finish on it and it came out way better than any sub $100 guitar has any right to. I've already built the strat one and am ordering 2 more of their kits. With a little bit of know how you can build a really decent playing and sounding guitar from Leo Jaymz Kits for a very reasonable price. I've bought "cheap" (sub $400) guitars that weren't even close to what I've built from there kits .

Hi there - great review! How do you adjust the action on these guitars at the bridge? Is it just the screw at the front of the bridge ( toward the bridge pickup ) or do the two screws on top of the saddle also ha e a role to play?
@johnvanmtb87754 ай бұрын
The 2 screws that are next to each other adjust the height, the screw in the middle of each saddle is for front to back . 👍
@academiaithaca75774 ай бұрын
@johnvanmtb8775 thanks that works! I noticed a fourth screw ( Horizontal screw just below each string on the front face that holds the saddle itself.) Unlocking that makes it easy to change the string height then lock it again.

I too had high hopes for this brand. After buying a pair for my pedal bike and initially loving the grip, I purchased 4 for my Ebike. All 4 on the Ebike have failed by losing side lugs and one on my pedal bike has suffered the same fate. All have failed between 200 and 400 miles. To their credit the company has replaced all for of the e-bike tires, but sadly I've had my pedal bike tires too long. I'm going back to name brands. You truly do get what you pay for.

@tbdog995 ай бұрын
@@johnvanmtb8775 I'm thinking a lemon yellow/amber top, and paint the sides, back and neck the Fender Sand color, with white binding and gold hardware, should look cool. It's the PHB-740 kit, an ES-335 version of the Gibson "Johnny A" guitar, kind of unique. Wondering if I should fill holes in the burl top with Grain filler before applying the stain, I'll get some scrap wood and experiment first.

thats not really anything close to an endure neck, thats a regular neck that was chamfered on either side. The base model strandbergs are $999, I'm sure a used one can be found for less, buy that instead. Doesnt really make sense to buy a $300 counterfeit (poorly counterfeited) guitar to try it out, at least if you dont like the actual thing you can sell it and get most if not all of your money back.

Howdy. I just picked one of these up but the bridge isn’t what came with it. Any idea what the width is? I’m gonna pick up a Wilkinson. 52.5, 54? I suck at precision measuring.
@johnvanmtb87759 ай бұрын
you got to find one with the correct stud placement if that wat your going for. I used a 54mm bridge
@ericthompson62489 ай бұрын
Does the bridge you put on require any modification since it is designed for string through bodies? I bought the guitar with the same idea.

I just ran the strings up thru the bridge and they stop on the backside of the bridge . You got me thinking , you could probably add a block to the bridge :) So far so good. Good luck

Just dry assembled one last night and the action was so low the strings were on the fret at the end of the neck. Beautiful kit but it’s gonna need some work. Neck and body are otherwise fantastic.

@@johnvanmtb8775 maybe or maybe I just got unlucky. Either way my anger over that guitar, I turned into a skill I can use. Not sure on that as the pick-ups (fanned fret style) have a offset which standard pick ups do not have . You can probably ask them to route for a standard pick-up . They were pretty good on getting back to me on any questions I had - Good luck
