So how do you know what goes to what store? On multiple stops. Is each part of the truck separate by stores with the blue curtains ?

@@RenegadeFredo blue curtain is to maintain temperature in the trailer. Each case has a label that you can scan and has a number according to what stop it’s for. The scanner you have shows you how many and what case goes where, you just scan the label and you will know if it’s the correct case for the stop

If they could load trailer based on store delivery location and just label the pallet 🤔 rather than scan each box. maybe they are trying to save space or not make it tooo simple for everybody 😂

TAKE HOME MEANS NOTHING. everyone is different with 20 different factors. ask for the gross

Every delivery job like this should come with a helper daily and they should be given some type of training just in case the driver has an emergency. The driver would be able to at least have some familiarity with driving and that could come in handy. Each truck should also have a let's be real here that would help out tremendously. These food companies make way too much money to not have these basic things that will help out their drivers.

@M4_Trucking trip over stuff until you have space 🤣 best you can do is move stuff aside till you get what you need and then make it secure for the next stop. If I have to move stop 2 to get to stop 1, I leave stop 2 wherever it lands as long as it's not going anywhere. Typically my warehouse groups the first couple stops onto skids together and then further on you start getting skids with upwards of 12 stops on them that you can downstack when you have the space.

@@shiftautomotive854 from my understanding dip pay is based on performance. If you work fast and get done early there is a calculation they do based on cases delivered and number of stops I believe. & that creates a new hourly wage. So it’s possible to go from $32 an hour to like $40 an hour

At Us Foods, atleast in my division we only have ramps and tri-fold doors. 95% of the time don’t even have room for a luggage carrier, as my route is consistently packed to the very end of the trailer. Gotta throw the Dollie’s on top however I can 😅

Don’t get discouraged bro, just apply to other Foodservice companies in your area, if there is a Sysco in your area I’m certain there is also PFG, GFS, McLane, Cheney just apply to all someone will give you a chance, they are all the same really and the avg foodservice driver makes around the same no matter what company they work for

Eventually if you have the same routes you’ll be able to recognize what boxes go where even without looking at the tags cuz they always order the same stuff. As you go organize other stops to the side and leave room to get by. The key is to touch the same box as few times as you can to save time and get paid more.

Like where I work now I make more in 48 hours a week 4 days a week then when I was working 55 hours a week 4 days a week at Sysco. And most of my hours drive time I only have 4-5 stops a day

Bro don’t build your stop on the floor. Build it on the hand truck. Also when separating stops organize them to the side leaving you a walk way. The quicker you learn the small details the better you’ll become.
