Some of the other videos in this series seemed a bit too hastily compiled, but you can tell this one was done with care and attention as befits Jean and Bernard. Wish Stan’s passing, funeral and aftermath had been included though.

Stan and Hilda might have been the couple who everyone ridiculed who didn't have two pennies to rub together but they bought their house fo £600 in 1964 so by the late seventies/ early eighties they were still cash poor but they were asset rich.

Was a bad idea for the Lib Dems (or the Alliance as they were in 1983 & 1987) to be split into 2. Kinda seemed pointless!

What makes me laugh about this is that Labour is - rightly - criticised for its low share of the vote but the fall in the Conservative share is written off as nothing. In addition, this is still seen as somehow the worst performance by a political party yet the Tories have performed much worse e.g. in 2024.

This would have been a happy escape down memory lane and a chance to admire wonderful casting and acting, if this programme had not been completely spoilt by that blonde bint constantly interrupting. EDIT. Sorry I can’t watch it with her.

If “trust in politics” was “low” in 2010 when the tories got in, then I wonder where the trustometer sits as they exit in 2024? My guess is the trustometer reading became so low a reading wasn’t even possible so its been in a draw somewhere at no.10 collecting dust
