hi Doug like your chanel, you speak like a pro Instructor Which is refreshing. Can you do a demo on midi output using the gig set list to start a backing track from the ToneMaster Pro? I have a Boss RC-5 and ToneMaster I am hoping to start and play backing tracks from my Rc5 using the song feature of the tonemaster. thr RC5 can hold large full song tracks and has midi control.

I actually did this YEARS ago with a Line6 X3Live, using the 2 chain method similar to what you did here. But I think it was kind of simpler to use for me: I used a REVERB (octo reverb, I think) with a 100% feedback, and the expression pedal controlled the feedback AND the mix between the chains. So: at the toe position I had 100% feedback on the reverb on the pad chain, and guitar signal sent to the LEAD chain (the other one). On heel, I had 0% feedback, and signal sent to the PAD chain. This way all I needed to operate was the exp pedal: strike the chord, while it rings out, put the pedal into the toe position (reverb starts to "loop"), play your phrase. When you need to change chord, put the pedal into the heel position, the reverb dies out, strike the next chord, push it down and go! It was REALLY fun and effective.

One of my favorite pedals was the Cathedral reverb by EHX. It has a freeze feature by pressing down a switch and holding it while playing a dry signal. Also, It had many varieties of reverb each with one preset option were available. So this video reminds me of all that I did then and now can do better and more easily with my TMP. Thanks Doug!

Thank you. DB Gilmour SOS. Very good work. Ok, the '59 Fender Tone Master Bassman is out now. I bought one. I've played it. It is a great amp. I just wish the attenuation settings were foot-switchable. However, I am very impressed with the sound and design. The effects loop is at the best place in the signal path, suitable for delay. I use a Boss CP-1X Compressor in the front end. I use a new Boss SDE-3 Dual Digital delay in the effects loop. I wonder if you can find the optimum jumper cable setup between the Bright and Normal channels. I wish Fender would mention what the mic situation is for IR 1, 2 & 3. They decided to have IR 1, 2 & 3 instead of Off, IR 1, 2 as on the Deluxe Reverb Tone Master. I really like the Vintage/Tight option for more/better sound. I get that tweed thing happening which is excellent. Please, if you can, compare the TMP Bassman sound to the Tone Master Bassman. Headphones will give a certain perspective but I think the 4 x 10 inch speakers have a magic all their own. I have the FR12 cabs but that is not a comparison I first think of making. In the back underside of the amp the speaker wires go directly inside the amp chassis. There is no way for an amateur to plug an external cab in. The tube Bassman was wired for four 8 ohm speakers to see a 2 ohm load on the amp. That has a bearing on the sound. The wiring diagram for the Tone Master speakers is a little above my pay grade. Maybe you could tell me what the wiring means in terms of total ohm load. At any rate, it is a great amp. My understanding is that IR 1 is an SM57 close-mic'd at the edge of the speaker. IR 2 is a Royer 421 close mic'd somehow. IR 3 is a blend. I guess if you put the Tone Master Bassman IR outputs into the FR12, it might approximate the TMP Bassman preset. Then you could do a direct comparison. A lot of work on your part but you really did a first rate job on the Gilmour SOS project. I think the '59 Tone Master Bassman amp deserves a serious look and listen. I love my TMP but the immediacy of the '59 Tone Master Bassman amp experience is so gripping that it merits evaluation. I ran my '59 Tone Master Bassman amp at the 1 watt setting in band practice and it was loud enough to cut through the mix. Volume Bright was 12. Reverb 8. Presence 1. Middle, Bass, Treble 8. Volume Normal 1. I use an HSS American Deluxe Strat. Ernie Ball 9-46. Primetone 1.4mm Dunlop picks, ribbed grip. 6 feet on axis, on an amp stand. Semi Carpeted floor. Outer two feet edges tile. 800 sq foot space in the basement. I remember the monster Vibro King amp. The 72 pounds of transformer it took to get that sound. The 32 pound '59 Tone Master Bassman seems like, "How did they do it?" My spine says this is the way to go.

I'd love to be able to compare the two units, but someone (Fender, Sweetwater, MF, etc) would have to send me a '59 Fender Tone Master Bassman to use. I personally won't buy one because I already have my FRFR system and don't have any space to have the '59 Bassman permanently set up. It sure does look nice tho.

I love my tone master pro. But I think for what I paid for it, it should have a better looper. I wish it had 2 channels and at least 5 minutes of recording time.
@JoonKimDMD2 күн бұрын
I am new to tone creation. Does clean tone need certain pick up between bridge and neck or do you just stick with one pick up but change the presets only? When do you switch between the pickups vs presets?
@DougBsDigitalDen21 сағат бұрын
For me (and this is just my opinion) the best clean tone is the combination of neck and bridge. I usually switch to the bridge pickup for crunchier tones and for lead.

Unfortunately no. You have to repeat the whole process every time you change chords. Maybe you can speed up the process over time, but there's always going to be the gap where you have to Thaw one loop and Freeze another.

Does the Tone Master Pro not have a modeling of the Echorec? I’d assume the Tape Echo is an Echoplex. Still a great preset.

@@DougBsDigitalDen Honestly, that’s kind of lame, considering that Line 6 made a modeling of the Echorec back in the 2000s, which you can still use on the Helix (it’s called Echoplatter).

Hi Doug, I found your video explaing how easy it is to set up midi commands with the TMP. I have a question about signal path routing now. I want to have my Kemper Player in a loop on one path and send it out to a left output, which is a TM FR12. Then I want to send the other path out to a right output which is a different TM FR12. The problem I seem to be having is that effect loops 1 and 2 will only populate before the path split. I assume that means that if I use loop 1 or loop 2 for the Kemper, it will be sent to both paths and that's not what I want. Am I doing something wrong? I could really use your help buddy. :)
@eddiefabok96739 күн бұрын
I am experiencing the same problems as you mentioned. I can operate the pedal with any issues, but software is my problem. I downloaded tonex max , but have no idea how to get into it, also have no idea how to get into the library. I never experienced such difficulty before. So far I’m still struggling, I will try to follow your steps in your presentation to see if I get success. Thanks for the presentation!
@JHPRS9 күн бұрын
Hi Doug, I don't know if this is in your wheelhouse, but here goes. I want to put my Kemper Player in a loop of the TMP, so I have the option of using it's profiles in place of TMP amp models. I also want to use the TMP midi out to make CC changes in the Kemper. I can figure out which CC numbers to use to make the changes. What I was wondering is if you have any knowledge to lay on me about setting up the TMP to send those changes. Any help will be appreciated. :)

Do both cables need to be plugged into the expression pedal for wah functionality? Or just the TRS?

It all depends on the pedal that you're using. If you have the Fender expression pedal, the TS cable is for the toe switch.

10:58 You say to make adjustments to the blocks and save with the Intro footswitch lit. Does that mean that the blocks can be set differently for each "scene" or song section and that the block settings are saved with the scene?
@DougBsDigitalDen11 күн бұрын
Not exactly - you can set up a footswitch with up to 5 parameter changes per "scene". So you can't change a bunch of parameters per scene, only 5 max.
