Thanks for sharing your work in progress! 🌹It's a very valuable content! 😀 It turns out that you are a very talented woman, you can draw, paint, write children's history , teach and now sew up your own dress! By the way, love it!

Hi Jules . Thank you for these guidelines. Please help me - I have recently completed three stories that I have written, for children, I sent them to one publisher and had feedback that is not encouraging. Would you mind me sending them to you please and tell me what you honestly think? I really would like them illustrated, printed and published. Thank you in advance. ❤❤

About copyright issues - can I use painting from older artists - such as Van Gogh in a children’s book? Also, do most children’s authors provide their own illustrations or does the publisher act as matchmaker for author and illustrator?
@JulesMarriner8 күн бұрын
Copyright- you have to be very careful even with old paintings. Check if they are ‘in the public domain’. And publishers would usually use an illustrator they’ve used before and would not expect you to provide one.

Thanks for the tip! I mostly do use background music, but sometimes leave it out for those who prefer no music. Thanks for watching and glad you like the studio. All best :)

I am revising my children's book for republishing under my pen name (your suggestion). I did not do a blurb the first time, as I didn't think it was necessary. It seems like you put up a video just when I need it. I'll save it to watch later, so I can watch it again and again. I'll work on a blurb once I start the revision. Scary. BTW, last year you reassured me that my stick figure artwork would be just fine, I thank you again for the encouragement. Yesterday, a lady (water color artist) visited my air museum (I'm a volunteer) and I asked her to look at my books, and let me know if she could improve my artwork. She said my images were precious, recommending I leave them alone. She added that my images would be cute as dolls, which she wouldn't hesitate to buy.

Thank you for the tips. I’m writing a space adventure series book for 10-12year old. I believe we can write a chapter book for that age group. Question: is a chapter book the same as a mini series or a short story?
@JulesMarriner11 күн бұрын
No, they are all different. Chapter book is for 7 years (approx) up and depending on topic and style of writing, can be for older audiences. Mini series really means more than one story or book with the character or theme. Short story is usually much shorter, too short for a book. You might put several short stories in a book. Hope that helps.

Ever since a very child, I’ve found calm and joy in creating an alternate world through drawing. Still well after a half a century later, I have yet to gain the confidence to break through the self-imposed barriers to write the stories.
