That low A bell almost sounds like a D-sharp. I know because the bells are tuned to A major, and that low A sounds almost like a D#.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but the first quarter melody for both Whittington and St. Michael’s are the major scale going down. It’s in the key of A, so that would be A-G#-F#-E-D-C#-B-A for that first pattern.

I forgot to show the switches on either side of the dial. The one on the left turns on the night silent feature and also turns on or off the strike. The right switch changes the chime to a different melody and also turns off the chimes.

The beat on the clock needs an adjustment. Remove the pendulum from the suspension rod and move it to one side or another until you get a nice clean even beat. But you have to remove the pendulum before testing.

@@carwashslayer4235 what does removing the pendulum have to do with anything? I'm currently working on a clock and the pendulum is how the beat is adjusted within reason. After some time today working on it," in beat" is a poor term, and trying to hear it is just a ballpark. you really need to see what is going on at the verge and escape wheel while it is running. I'm lost at your method unless you meant to say adjusting rather than testing.

⁠@@heavymetalmadness666no in these newer German movements even in the older ones from the 20s have a adjustable verge with a friction fit pressure washer you can adjust the verge by moving it past the area it ticks to adjust it

The beat is uneven simply remove the pendulum and grasp the arm to one side or another until you get a nice clean even fast beat. Reattaching the pendulum will slow it down to normal. A clean even beat ensures that the clock continues to keep accurate time. Chimes sound perfect.

The clock needs to be stabilized by making certain that it's level, and then putting a screw through the center of the strike plate so that it doesn't swing when you open the door. And yes, it's the Jennison, and howard miller still sells this clock, the current price is $2299.

It does sound like the Ridgeway Grandmother Clock and honestly this looks like a Grandmother Clock, Grandfather Clocks are bigger and built longer. This sounds great. Can you do a winding video of any clock? 1:57

I have a Jauch clock that looks and sounds like that. However, it's got some major problems with the chiming sequence because the melody wheel is out of place and some pegs broke off. I've been hoping to find another melody wheel, but to no avail. I've also been given some suggestions by other people saying that the pegs can be fixed or something.

I have the exact same clock with the Roman numeral numbers but due to the age of mine the gears are really grindy is there anyway for me to oil the gears and how do I access the gears to oil them

They sound okay to me. Maybe it’s the video, or the fact that the chime rods are sealed inside the clock case.
