He got a high head. He let his name go to his head, where he doesn't want to answer questions, and be secret. Well age changed him, because now he obviously came out of the closet. The song was a great song, talking about 96 Tears, and I copied it back in 1967-1968, and so on. Of course he was bashful then, and it appears he is bashful and interviews are not his thing. I don't blame him because media always twists your words. I am happy for his success, especially his band who were humble musicians.

96 Tears was recorded in the back of Art Schiell's Raymond Street house in Bay City Mich. It was a back porch at one time, but Art walled it in and built a recording studio well before the Mysterians recorded there. Quite a few bands recorded there. "In 1968 a band called the Popcorn Blizzard recorded "Once Upon A Time" and "Hello" with Art Schiell at his Raymond Street studio. The session is significant because the group's lead singer was Marvin Lee Aday, more commonly known as Meat Loaf." People should know it was a tumultuous time back then. President Johnson was getting us involved deeper into Viet Nam. Many up and coming bands never saw success because of the Viet Nam draft.

@@MrThomascrownaffair JUST stopped watching halfway through, so, first off, kudos for such a quick response! But also apologies, I’m not trying to be pointlessly critical, it just seems like the questions didn’t have a whole lot of substance or research or hardly even forethought behind them. And I definitely have sympathy for anyone having to try to keep an interview subject like this on the rails (no easy task!), but at the same time, if he’s going off the rails *in an INTERESTING way*, I would think a good interviewer would also be better prepared to just roll with it. … Additional apologies if any of what I’M saying doesn’t make any sense either, I’m a little high as we speak 🤷🏼‍♂️ lol/smh

The story of the band I was a roadie for in Toronto, The Nukes had a very similar history. But the Nukes never signed. They didn't like the clauses Cue missed. But the devil still got those that declined the offer. Percussionnist Brian D Johnson wrote for Maclean's as entertainment editor thus perpetuating the popular mythos of pedohollywood. Vocalist Gary Galaxy Penner became a collections lawyer for Revenue Canada and Keyboardist concept guy Kim Cameron invented laws of identity for blockchain for Bill Gates. Target of who the devil was after was Cleveland's David Bacha. The guys who inadvertently saved Bacha from signing a deal with the devil were forever consumed hook line and sinker by Satan.

Back in the 60s, I knew the entire group. Someone set off an army tear gas bomb in a venue in Holyoke, MA. We ended up at their motel that night and the next day. We stayed in touch for years after that. I had original polaroids taken back stage the first time they performed on American Bandstand with Dick Clark. My sister was closer to them, I moved away soon after meeting them. Will never forget the look on Q's face when he came out of his room without his glasses on and I beas just a few feet away. Am one of the few who saw him w/o his glasses. Boy, was he upset!!! LOL!

Thank you for sharing your memories of Q. I remember the first time I met him. It was 1989 and I'd been one of the announcers at WTAC in Flint. He had just produced a 4 song cassette and was on our talk show "Perry Wright & The Phone Zone." I wanted to interview him on my show and he showed up at our station with his manager Laverne Thompson. I couldn't believe I was actually meeting the first king of what is now called Garage Band music! Anyway, I recorded our interview in our production studio for airing the next day. He was very animated and funny, just like he is in this video. He's quite a live wire! Q is a real performer, and I think he lives to be on stage

Question Mark was easily Mick Jagger's match as a performer. "96 Tears" was one of the very best Garage songs of the '60s. I was in the Hollywood Music Industry working for a well-known independent record label, and later as leader of a top Southen California New Wave band. Our lawyers and accountants bled us dry. Question Mark lays the Music Industry bare.

Hi Ameri, It's so true! I found out through his Manager Laverne that the lady who created their costumes back when they were just starting out had connected them with Neil Bogart who convinced Q and the band to sign a contract. Bogart promised to make them rich and famous. They signed the contracts without reading over the small print that said he owned them and the rights to their music. It wasn't until the early nineties that Q finally got his rights to all future music he'd produce with the surviving members of the Mysterians. The same thing happened with Badfinger and their so called manager Stan Polley. Really sad.

? and the Mysterians charted multiple singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1966-1967 including a #1 and a top 40 (I Need Somebody #22) Then the label they were on stole everyone’s money and was shut down by the Securities Exchange Commission for selling fraudulent stocks. They do not qualify as a “One Hit Wonder” . That being said, anyone who could hit the charts in the 60s competing against the likes of the Beatles and Stones reached higher than you will ever know in your life.

@@qwesence1 uh, Que’s my best friend and I’m his publicist. That’s NOT what the song is about AT ALL. A publicist a long time ago put that rumor out to stir interest but if the guy who wrote it says that’s not what it’s about I’m going to take his word for it. I’m pretty sure he knows what he was writing about. Furthermore, in 1966 most of the band members were 13-15 year old Catholic school kids (Que being the only legal adult) and highly doubtful their parents would have allowed such. They’d have locked them in the confessional booth for all eternity. The only “code” is in your head sweetie-sorry.
