I really enjoy Bagh Chal from Lemery games, and it sounds like you got a nice sampling of good games in that collection. Typeset sounds cool. Looking forward to your upcoming solo party on that. Ok, sidebar time. We’ve briefly branched out into the topic of movies before, limiting it to Studio Ghibli stuff. Your title, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. One of my favorite movies. Kind of a guilty pleasure, spaghetti westerns in general. Mostly the Clint Eastwood stuff. That and Akira Kurosawa stuff. Seven Samurai, Rashomon, Hidden Fortress. How about you?
@tabletoptokki2 күн бұрын
Also excited to get Typeset up on the channel, hopefully soon! :D Ahhh nice! I think I've only seen Seven Samurai (and TGTBATU, obvi.) Have you also seen the Korean film The Good, The Bad, The Weird? Wayyyyy better than it had any right to be! ^^ I don't watch a lot of movies these days, but I'll always have a special place in my heart for any variety of horror films from the excellent to the very very shite, haha.
@StKnightis642 күн бұрын
@@tabletoptokki I’ll have to look for The Good, the Bad, The Weird. A pretty good horror series out of Korea that I believe is still on Netflix is Bulgasal, Immortal Souls. Worth a watch. Take care. Edit: Big swing and a miss on TGTBTW; closest I got was a version with Hindu subtitles, which somehow seems to make it more difficult than just “guessing” Korean directly. Maybe it’s me.

T3 I can tell you are an excellent game teacher, thanks for clearly breaking down such a heavy game. I’ve had my eye on this one and may need to back it. Cautious optimism here too but this is reassuring. Do you think it seems worth it for solo only?
@tabletoptokki8 күн бұрын
That's a great question! Solo for this one is superrrrr satisfying, so if you are looking for a heavy Euro to solo, I'd def recommend it. I find that, while I do love playing bigger box games with others, I don't have the motivation to play them solo over smaller games most of the time. Sweetlands was definitley an exception to that for me! 😁 Dunno if you saw already too, but I gave a full solo playthrough if that helps you get a better idea of what that looks like exactly! 🤗

@@tabletoptokki WELL that’s perfect haha I’ll check that out next thank you! Also that’s funny, I find the opposite for myself. Lighter games in groups since others I know aren’t as into the hobby, heavy games myself when I can take my time to dig in to the strategy.

The “Ludos games” collection is cool. I bought something like that a few years ago from Lemery Games called Bagh Chal (Tiger and Goats). I bought an extra one for a present for my grandson I liked it so much. Sidebar 1: Have you seen the game Pixies from Pandosaurus games? Same people that did Sea, Salt and Paper; artwork kind of resembles that. Cute, simple filler game. Sidebar 2: Ten hundred yellow. Not a huge Tarentino guy, but I’ll take a giraffe in a Kill Bill jogging suit. Sweet.

You covered my thoughts exactly on this game regarding what a cool mechanism for a battle system. Honestly, when you first started drawing lines, I was thinking, well this is dopey… But it really grew on me. Very unique. Ok. Ten Hundred fix time. Awesome tee. I wanted that one, but no big boy sizes by the time I tried to get it. I love how he draws a bengal tiger. Well, there’s not much he doesn’t knock out of the park. Oh. The pool term for lining up your shot? Lining up your shot. Yw.
@tabletoptokki23 күн бұрын
Yeah, it really kind of correlates with swinging a sword or smth, which I think is pretty cool. 😎 Ah, I didn't grab anything in the labor day sale. I have so many shirts… it might be a while before I pick up anything new tbh. 😅 And no shot, is it really just called lining up your shot?!?!?! 😂
@StKnightis6423 күн бұрын
@@tabletoptokki My knowledge of the game is what my dad taught me and picked up in bars, so nothing official. Everyone I played with called it lining up the shot. Now my nieces husband actually plays in tournaments. I’ll ask him; pretty sure it’s lining up the shot. Here’s real pool knowledge for ya. You can hit the cue ball low so it backspins after it collides with the target ball. That’s called “English”.
@tabletoptokki23 күн бұрын
WHY IS IT CALLED ENGLISH!?!?!?!? 😂😂😂
@StKnightis6423 күн бұрын
@@tabletoptokki Ok, fair question. So to be honest with you, I never knew the origin. It was something my dad taught me to do, he called it “English”, and I never questioned it. Looking into it, American players didn’t use the technique until it was introduced to State pool halls by British players. The Americans would see the backward spin on the cue ball, and say “look at that crazy English on the ball”. Plausible. It’s a physics thing. You’re hitting it off center, so it’s creating a mad spin. Neat to see. When you’re first learning to do it, you usually screw up your shots. But once you get it. Gold Jerry. Gold

A couple rules questions from your playthrough: Looks like in the rules there's no diagonal movement, correct? And I think the movement card with all four modules means you can "move one module" of the four. I don't see a restriction that that module can only move one space.
@desult0r24 күн бұрын
Perhaps this video had pre-release rules, but I just got confirmation from Jason Tagmire on Discord that 1. There's no diagonal movement (unless an ability makes that happen), and 2. a movement card with all four modules means you can move one module of the four, any number of spaces.
