Hi, I liked your vidio. Question? My 2016 150 transit low roof type has a/c ducting down the middle of the roof behind gray felt roof covering. I want to install the Maxxair 2 with remote in the rear middle. Any tips about instalation? Can I re-rought the air ducts around the Max fan? Don't use the rear a/c that much. But sometimes. Any advice, tips. Thanks. Indiana Jerry in south LA, California.

Mate that has to be the tidiest set up ever shown on KZbin, I might even be able to digest your explanation as I’ve never picked a tool up since I was kicked out of woodwork at school please take that as a compliment.

Ok, I’m a little confused. I watched a couple other videos of people installing the heater in a Ford Transit and they both had to lower the fuel tank to complete the install and that is where I kind of lost my courage, but in your video apparently you don’t have to do that with a Ram Promaster as it looks like there is an access panel to the fuel tank from inside of the cab? Given that another video said that estimates to have someone do the install for you in a Transit, was $900-$1500, and although I was leaning towards getting a Transit, I think that buying a Promaster would be a better choice, as I could install the heater myself as the electrical, and rest of it isn’t as worrisome.

This is NOT THE BEST method. Do all your electrical wiring first. Then insulate. While there nothing "wrong" with this method, But it is defiantly not the best method. You add unnecessary weight and complexity. Use hexagonal 8MM Rivet nuts to hold panels to ceiling and walls. DO NOT USE ADHESIVE. Using Adhesive makes future modifications impossible. Nobody glues an van together. You use Stainless flat head or oval head 8mm x 20 mm Phillips screws to hold the panels on The use of Self taping Screws Should be avoided at all costs unless you want rust.THERE IS NO NEED FOR Furring Strips in a van. You cover the walls with sections of plywood that is 48"Wide. So you need vertical "studs as attachment points every 24" maximum 12" or 16" also work. Some vertical studs you have to install where there is not an attachment point. Best and cheapest to adjust each panels width to match the vans vertical pillars. Layout is key here. If you have window it is best to make a cutout in a panel or panels. Then trim fill in the gap. This method has much less weight than the method shown and the panels are removable for service or future modification.

I plan on insulating first then wiring just in case I need to get to wiring in the future.How does doing it in reverse order create a weight difference. Genuinely asking.As for complexity Maybe it's more complex because you have to be more careful of running a screw through wiring I don't know if that's what you mean.Everything else I understand and agree.

Thanks so much. I love your website and have learned so much from it. I used your link to purchase the two seat rotators from the Sprinterstore. You were right, the packing was atrocious 0 shipping information. When I did manage to get thru to them they were rude and disrespectful. I will not be doing any further business with them!

wait so you can just put tile directly onto a plywood sheet? You don't have to use the kerdi boards?

Where does the electrical hook to?
@denisecatlett72032 ай бұрын
Thank you for all the information. I came here to figure out what fittings I should use. I bought a different brand, but it looks very similar to what you have. Now I know what problems to watch for. I think I’ll hook it up outside first before testing it inside. And I’ll also have a fire extinguisher close by. I used to use a portable butane stove inside in the Van until it started acting up. I turned it on and had the fireball experience. Very scary. Buy quality.

Good system of framing. You can also "gang cut" multiple strips of ply. Saves a lot of time. The Kreg pocket screws is a great idea.
