Hello again Colton, again, my condolences. I Just finished the video. I have a solution for the rain in the sliding door. I bought a 6' piece of 1/2" aluminum channel. U- shaped, i bought a can of matching white paint from o'reilly, painted it and then used double sided 3mm tape to mount it at a slight angle draining to the rear. I haven't had any dripping into the van since my install. Costs about 20 bucks, and takes less than an hour. And no one has ever noticed it. Good luck everyone, hope this helps.

Maybe I'm wrong, but from what I understand, the difference between the 2500 and 3500 is the amount of space inside the van. Thank you and your fallen comrades for everything you do and have done to make this country great!

Thank you for your service and sacrifices! Also want to ladder onto the your point about the rain coming in on the sliding door being an issue at @ 7:15. I went through EXTENSIVE communication and had it in their shop 5 times at Dodge/Ram about this particular issue. Mine was allowing rain/drips into the van during heavy extended rains even with the door closed and was extremely easily fixed with a J channel 3M strip I bought on Amazon. After confirming that this was fixed I went to the dodge dealership where I bought the van but because I made modifications on it they blamed me for the leaks even though I had evidence that the leak was happening before any of my modifications took place. Long story short, dodge will not fix this issue but is a clear engineering defect which should be fixed under warranty. If you look at the back doors there is a channel there which makes me wonder why they haven't done this for the sliding door. If you buy a new promaster, I would recommend trying to solve for this issue before you do any modifications to get them to create a permanent fix under warranty. Anyway, the simple fix is to do a J channel/gutter type solution to guide the water away from the door. The one I bought to fix it was $40 I think. Just something to keep in mind when purchasing these.

One of the hidden advantages of the Ducato (your Promaster) is the fact that it is made from galvanised steel, unlike VW and Mercedes. That is why older vans of the last 2 always need a lot of rust treatment and welding in new bits of steel and the Ducato owner can start building straight away. Not to mention the wider cargo area that doesn't slope like a tipi.

Can you get rain guards to keep the rain out? I got them on my last Honda odyssey, and now on my Toyota sienna. They are perfect for being able to crack the windows if you have animals inside, and do not want to let the rain in. Also, you can keep the windows cracked open, and other people cannot tell, so you can keep the car from getting overheated If you’re away from it for a while
@AnkeneyVanBuilds3 жыл бұрын
You can! Ever since I posted this video I’ve had various people send me links to rain guards!

The european version with the 3.0 turbo diesel gets around 26mpg and has 400nm at 1400rpm and 180hp at 3500. Not sure if the bigger v6 in the US is the better deal tbh.
@davewenners67223 жыл бұрын
2500 vs 3500 it the towing and hauling capacity and maybe tire size. Other wise they are the same. One thing no one mentions about these Promasters is the weight in the back can squat the back enough to make steering scary. I drove both the 2500 and 3500 both at max weight and both were scary to drive around corners. Overall I did like driving the vans long distance. I have Ford, Chevy and older dodge and the Promaster I think was the easier to drive empty.
@50whatnomadtravelnursemtb53 жыл бұрын
It's pretty much universal with trucks/vans, 1500 is a half ton rated load, 2500 has 3/4 of a ton rated and the 3500 is considered 1 full ton payload. Ford uses f 150, 250, 350

Headlights are an issue. I went aftermarket and even those leaked and died after a short time. Poking around I think there is a massive design flaw in the design of the headlight case. Actually a few flaws. I'll try and make a quick video on it with what I've found. I'm not an expert but problem solving is something I'm good at.

Thank you so much for memorializing three wonderful people and their families and friends. And for pointing out potential problems in the Promaster. I am 75 and have a bad rotator cuff and arthritis. I am concerned about the sliding door. is it any easier to open from the outside? Hope they have come up with something to keep it from dripping water inside when the sliding door is opened after rain.
