Dev has said more than once during interviews that she doesn't understand how folks can find Lae attractive, but if you watch her streams, she's been pretty dead gone on Lae'zel and not just in the "I have to because I voiced her" sense - in fact, she says the romance scenes felt like she was speaking to an entirely separate character. Thats said, I understand why someone who's not the biggest gamer or fantasy/sci-fi nerd might expect most folks to be rather conformist (preferring Shadowheart and Astarion, etc.) and therefore rein it in a bit during more public interviews.

It's really interesting that they did facial capture for Alice. From memory I don't think she ever appears outside of the FMVs
