the plane board i think is for some ideal swing plane angle that doesn't really exist in a real swing. you can't swing straight back because when the body rotates the arms and club arc more inside and up than the board would allow. i'm sorry but that's how i see it.

Props to you going by yourself for the first time. I can say for a fact that everyone tends to overthink it. Also, NOBODY will look at a beginner and laugh. If anything guys will be rushing to give you tips.

I've been addicted since I was 15 and I'm 66 now. Last month my clubs were stolen along with my friends car and his clubs. 10 years I had them. Imagine the excitement of getting to go out and buy all new stuff. Irons came yesterday and off to the range to try them out.

I normally watch people, those good swings, look how they move and did it. Everyone started from nothing, just dont worry if you miss the ball, experience golfers knows that, just go in driving range with purpose what to practice, and have fun.

Golf is fun, not perfect, but need focus and peace of mind, one good shot take over the bad shots.

Payed most sports - golf is the most challenging - no comparison - enjoy the ride!!

I play with some clubs that used to be my Dad's, 1990, 91 Dunlops. Not even sure that brand exits anymore. I did get them regripped with some Golf Pride grips a few years ago. They still hit great. Maybe one day I splurge for some new ones.
