Dude so close to sub 2s and awesome lap! Work on 3-6 you got about a second there! Oak tree entry was great but need to slow down sooner for apex as you probably lost atleast .5 seconds just on exit and delayed WOT. Great lap!

@travisrlambert2 жыл бұрын
I'd bet the stats are in favor of Sport 1 for bringing your car home in one piece, at least for stock aero, brakes, and tires sizes. Putting too aggressive of a pad in the rear as well as changing tire sizes and compounds are where people get into trouble. Avoid those issues and Sport 1 works amazingly well.

Driver needs to learn more patience in their driving. Vocalizing frustrations on being passed and making passes is a real indication you don't see the open road by processing 2 or 3 moves ahead. Horsepower on straight aways isn't the only way to safely pass and hoping someone holds their position vs putting yourself in the correct position is driving 101. Overall good job though.

It was great hanging out with you guys this weekend at the track. I can't wait to do it again next year! If there are any managing members of the Audi club watching this, I hope they can see they need to reevaluate some of these red group folks. I had very similar experiences in the black group as well. It's really unacceptable within top-tier groups. to run at a snail's pace and give delayed point-bys.
@ericeisen63973 жыл бұрын
Sorry to see this! Glad it does not seem serious. As a fellow track junkie always enjoy watching vids to see what what right and what went wrong. Thoughts here? Seems like previous laps you were faster and settled. This one with traffic and throttle variance had you adjusting the chassis approaching the apex, a little more lock to chase the apex, front bites and at same time that dreaded dip and there goes the rear. Love to get your take. What system was this recorded on? Thanks for posting!
@Stephen03S6003 жыл бұрын
Yes, strange line because of traffic and I was looking at the BMW and adjusted too far track left...dumb mistake and it caught me my total surprise. I had left wheel input and it caught and whipped me immediately over the hump. No fixing the mistake as I tried and probably waited too long prior to full brake engagement.

You could definitely use the Strano Wind Deflector as the PDR sound is massively affected by turbulence.
@Stephen03S6003 жыл бұрын
I have them. In the car, I hear nothing but the PDR picks up the wind noise which was terrible before the Strano wind deflectors.

Great! My first track in the ZLE is coming up mid-April. How long do you reckon we need to warm up our tires before pushing for a hot lap? I do worry about properly heat cycling the GY3R tires.
@Stephen03S6003 жыл бұрын
Depending upon the ambient temperature outside, I would suggest you give two laps before really leaning on them. They are very sketchy when cold so be careful at any temperatures below 50°. Once you see the air pressures go up a psi or two, you will be fine. Seems like maximum grip is at 32 to 33 PSI. Keep air pressure on your dash. You can check tire temperatures with one of the performance pages and wait for normal to come up on screen. Not really necessary, I just keep tire pressure on the screen.

Could you tell a big difference with the 1LE over the regular ZL1?
@Stephen03S6003 жыл бұрын
yes...the 1LE is quite a bit better everywhere except straightaway speed. It loves curbs and there is no suspension lean. I have the camber at -2.8 front and -2.3 rear and that feels great. Toe is +.05 front and rear.

Two thumbs down? I guess the Porsche drivers found this video. These guys need some class room time. It’s always funny to me that you run somebody down from literally a mile back and they’re going to make you ride behind them for half a lap. I just don’t get it. Then you have the folks that point you by and then race you into the Uphill Esses or into the braking zone on the front and the back. I will say overall in Red most drivers were very respectful except the dude that kept pointing us by to the left on the front straightaway.

Stephen, by the way you were driving, I assume you were in the Red run group and I think I was at VIR the same weekend. Initially, I was in white and had a BMW that wouldn't give me a pass for 1.5 laps (and VIR is a long track) which was worse that the guy you dealt with . Luckily I got bumped to black and didn't have to deal with that guy again...
