My beautiful boy, Logan, a cocker spaniel let me know one morning it was time for him to go. He went outside and lay down in his favorite spot, overlooking his valley....the sun was in his fave and he was taking everything in. I had my husband take pictures outside of me with Logan. I told my husband that Logan was dying....he thought I was crazy. I carried Logan in the house to his bed, laid him down and told him I'd be right back. I carried a load of laundry upstairs and returned. I took Logan in my arms and I sang him our special song as I cuddled him. When I finished, he looked up at me, gave me a kiss on my cheek and then he lay hos head down and passed away in my arms. It was such an absolutely beautiful ending to our wonderful life together. I miss you Logan ❤❤❤

2:50 - “it is thanks to an unwritten law of the wilderness that the porcupines have been spared from the great killing that caused so many species to become extinct when the new continent was opened up…” No, they were saved because of actual WRITTEN law, not “unwritten laws of nature”. Our state and federal governments have passed bills declaring when hunting seasons are in effect, for specific species. Not many people want to mess with or deal with a porcupine though, even if they can be legally hunted during certain times of the year… it’s kinda pointless. It’s not an unwritten law that saved them, it’s their quills, and governments controlling the unregulated mass killing of animals, including porcupines. Historically, I don’t think they were ever quite killed to that extent. Compare their population to historical numbers of west coast sea otters, American beavers, river otters, minks, martens, etc…all hunted extensively and nearly to extinction in some cases. They have luxurious and waterproof fur that was desirable for fur traders. Porcupines don’t offer much besides quills and “lost man’s food”. Lol.

The root cause of the problem are the people who plundered the forest of Borneo and Sumatra causing the lost of habitats for these amazing apes. The killings of adults and stealing of baby Orangutans are easier to deal with. As long as the rain forests keep disappearing, the surviving Orangutans have no place to go. Another issue compounding the situation is the long childhood period of 7 years before a female can get pregnant again. I mean it’s even longer than us humans.

I think the research done by Augusta is very interesting and I hope she can continue to do that. There are plenty of 'crows' where I live in N. Italy but to be honest, most of us do not know the difference between a crow, raven or jackdaw and we do not particularly like them either.

If you want to train a dog you have to think like a 🐕 its a 3yr old child that dosnt yet speak yr language. As you give them a comand picture it in yr mind & they just know. If you want to have a personal connection with your pets, get down to their level. Lay on the floor with them & cuddle them. If their in their bed lay yr head on the bed & breath at the same rate as your pets breathing. Another way to connect to them is act as if your cleaning something off their head or ear, personal grooming to them is loving & caring. Its not like bathing them, its more personal. Its hard to live up to all the love a pet has in their ❤ for us. But try, pets think we're amazing & the food you bring home, they assume you cought or found it & their impressed by that.

I believe people & animals can communicate better it the person trys to be more understanding of the animal instead of just thinking animals have no intelligence.
